Popular Post! Thor 2,702 Posted July 29, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted July 29, 2015 I know I'm going to look like the overly optimistic guy writing this after a few preseason games that got everyone excited, but I know this guy is going to be one of the most efficient strikers in the league this season. He will be getting plenty of media talk this season, and it will be because he is one of the best once again. I know a lot of people were hammering on about how this is Torres all over again, but the situation is far and away different. The EPL hasn't gotten a chance to see Falcao really, or what his strengths and weaknesses are, so he hasn't been playing enough to get figured out. The pace and level of play is still there unlike Torres, and most of all, he is surrounded by players he has played with before. Our strikeforce will be great this season, and Falcao will most definitely produce. If anyone slumps on their form it will be Costa, though largely due to how brilliant he was last season. Hard to keep such a strike rate up, and he won't need to with a much improved range of players to choose from up front. Swapping Falcao in for Drogba is a big improvement, and it won't be like playing 10 vs 11 at times like we were last season with Drogs on the field injured at times. zolayes, 1chelsea, CeleryFC and 3 others

Popular Post! Special Juan 28,141 Posted July 29, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted July 29, 2015 I'm more worried about players like Ramires who can't pass a ball than Falcao. Barbara, CFC888, 11Drogba and 8 others
zolayes 14,489
Like @Thor I am optimistic over Falcao. Last year he didn't have too much playing time and this might have been a good thing for his recovery .I think he may even take over as our number 1 striker. Plus we should now be doing all we can to get behind him.But I just find it daft that with the structure of our scouts and the experience the whole transfer team has WTF would they go ask the players that have only seen him for a few minutes their thoughts. Kinda makes a mockery out of our transfer system a bit.

MrBlueGuy 1,552
Never mind scoring goals, he needs to learn how to control the ball 1st. Giving it away everytime he got it.

Do we really think it will suddenly improve significantly next week against Swansea? All that different from his MU career so far is that his hair is different. Do we really think it will suddenly improve significantly next week against Swansea? All that different from his MU career so far is that his hair is different.I genuinely think it will. He had a lot going against him at United. He joined on deadline day, so didn't get a pre-season with his side. Secondly, he was being constantly rotated with van Persie and Rooney and Welbeck, and simply didn't get a consistent run of games to prove himself. It didn't help that van Gaal was changing systems every game as well. I accept he was very poor for United, but I believe we are a side that would suit his abundant qualities more so than United. I don't expect him to thrash in 40 goals next season, but he's certainly an upgrade on Drogba as a second/third-choice forward. Mourinho has confidence in him (clearly - otherwise he wouldn't have negotiated the deal) and I trust his judgement. I think he'll surprise many people because fans such as yourself are already writing him off before a single competitive football is kicked. zolayes

Special Juan 28,141
Better than Remy today.I was better than Remy today. Not going to have a pop at Loic because I still say he's a top player and really like him, but he was very poor today and leading that line is never easy. iseah100

OneMoSalah 8,886
Some of his movement since coming here has been promising to say the least. I think he will score goals this year, just need the guys who create to start creating for him because he is pretty much a poacher, he relies on through passes and crosses aimed for him more than anything. zolayes
