Football is really dynamic. He won't emulate that success if he just emulates those tactics. 6 years ago the so called tik taka was still the hottest thing in the world. Right now its a little outdated and even Barcelona is playing a different kid of football.

I know that well. Would still like to win a treble though :D

Seriously, my only concern is that Mou will actualy use him as second choice for quite some time, regardless of his form, or even if Remy will score more in time given. Last year, Drogba was given many chances ahead of Remy, despite not doing that well, while Remy had decent record.

Falcao is still a big name and thats why Mou might simply prefer him to Remy, but dunno, maybe not.

To make clear, I will be seriously pissed if Falcao will be given chances, even if underperforming, while more efficient Remy will sit on bench.

Shit looking back 70 goals in 90 games is insane and if not for Messi and Ronaldo you will be hailed as one of the best striker in the league history especially since its BBVA and not just some random pub league. Damn from that to this sorry guy who can't even run properly anymore :(

It's more likely we'll see Remy and either Costa or Falcao in the starting XI than Costa and Falcao. There's no way Mourinho is going to start turning Costa and/or Falcao into a wide striker all of a sudden, not when we have Remy who play in that position.

We know Costa won't be benched.

Now let's say this Falcao is as good as Atletico Madrid's Falcao. Will Mourinho bench Atletico Madrid's Falcao? I don't think so.

The mos feared striker for 4-5 years and he flopped last season and we are writing him off. this is absurd. trust in Mou.

believe it or not thats why some chelsea fans are still a little sober :P

I would be the happiest person if Falcao can disprove my skepticism

Is this the least exciting 'big name' signing in our recent history? Can't remember the last time 95% of the people including myself have written off a player before he has kicked a ball for us.

2 years ago everyone here would accept even 60m for Falcao now we got him for a free but no one is excited anymore. Hope at least he gets a few goals like Drogba did before moving on next summer.

I'm excited.

Stats don't say much, in truth. If we're going by stats then Harry Kane is the best player in the history of world football.

Falcao will surprise people. The fact there is next to no expectation for him to deal with is a massive positive.

Torres didn't become what he did because of a loss of pace. Even in his latter years at Chelsea he was still relatively quick. Pace doesn't explain those horrendous misses, same thing with Falcao who was lethal in his prime.

While still relatively quick I think that loss of explosiveness really hurt him. He was always 1 step too slow and got closed down or had to rush a shot. Earlier in is career his blistering pace helped him get that extra half second. Of course this doesn't excuse the completely horrendous misses.

While I still don't have a good feeling about Falcao, I don't think it would hurt as bad as Torres as what the other posters have stated. Costa's now our main man so we should be fine.

Neither Costa or Falcao have the technique and even bit of playmaking ability Etoo had. Diego and Falcao did play together in atletico, but they were both more out and out strikers than midfielders. We are already weak in midfield, no way will Jose take one more midfielder out for a striker and make us even weaker in middle unless we will be behind or in need for a goal.

Falcao has never been reliant on his pace.

As I said, any striker who has pace will use it, and as Falcao had it, it was a part of his game. You are right, but as I said Falcao is a finisher first then everything else later.

What I meant by "being reliant on his pace" is that if you took that part out of his game, you could notice he's really missing it in some situations. I noticed it while watching him for Manchester.

Well Im hoping that him coming will ignite a fire between both him and Costa, From all the old reports Ive gone thru they get on really well together. When Costa was running the channels either side of the penalty box poacher he gave Falcao alot of the asisrs of his 34 goals in 12/13 season and Falcao doing same for Costa. Thats a reason Turan would have been good for us. Them and Filipe were all good mates and MAYBE he might just bring the best out of Cuadrado.
