Gilvorak 3,734
Oscar simply can't be left out for Fabregas again. This isn't 2010, he's a much better #10 than Cesc is. Either we risk him by playing him deep against City or drop him altogether.
Magic Lamps 11,692
Oscar simply can't be left out for Fabregas again. This isn't 2010, he's a much better #10 than Cesc is. Either we risk him by playing him deep against City or drop him altogether.this. IMO in a game like this, Fabregas and Ramires should not be anyway near the starting lineup. IMO we should play Matic-Oscar-Willian in midifeld and Remy or Moses on the right wing. Our fixtures in 2013/14 against themshowed, beating City is about raw pace. Which is why Mourinho will probably play Ramires and that is ok, but playing both Ramires and Fabregas is the worng step, as they are both not deensively solid, only offer that much pace in combination with matic, are not particularly mobile plus usually perform mediocre at best in big games. Willian on the other hand is the only player in our squad apart from Hazard who can lead the transition from a deep position with precision and pace. Hence he is imo best suited to a role in a mid 3 having hazard and another winger next to him when sprinting forward keeping up with his pace and exploit the space behind their fullbacks.I said it before and will say it again. City, esp when they get in KDB are probably the most potent title threads. Yaya knows this is his last year on the top. Also for people like Cichy, Sagna, Zabaleta, navas, demichelis maybe even Kompany, time is running out. And if they keep Agüero injury free whilst avoiding a mid-season slump like they had last season we don't have the squad to prevent them from regaining the title. Thor 2,702
Would bite my own left nut off for a win, but I'd be more than satisfied with a point. Damn, how flexible are you!?I struggle putting my socks on in the morning.
Henrique 9,133
Mourinho line up: the usual average back four; Zouma, Matic, Ramires; Fabregas; Hazard; Costa.Final result: 0-0.My ideal line up in the mid and attack: Matic, Ramires, Oscar; Hazard, William, Falcao. bluephoenix 1,131
I don't want to sound all negative but if we lose this on Sunday, we would be 5 points behind them already...after 2 games!I am mentally prepared for a defeat so that my Sunday doesn't get ruined. stroey 2,525
Best timing for this match, time to face the reality. We have not been good in the second part of last season, but it was the fighting mentality along with some great performers and mainly Eden that carried us to the title.- Are we still good enough to park a good bus?- Can we finally show some good counter attacking football?- Does Jose has a new game plan to surprise us in these big games? Our big games last season were really average compared to the 2013-14 season, we need to improve. If we can't show anything positive in this game vs Man City, then what can we do against Real, Barca, PSG, Atletico and Bayern? The big plus is, if we boards want, we still have two weeks to do something about our squad after this match. Parky 739
I think Jose will play for the draw. Sit deep and try hit them on the counter.

If we try and attack we'll get beat, it's quite a simple scenario at the minute. For the next month or so we need to grind out results whilst we accrue match fitness. We're a good few weeks behind most clubs in that regard.

ParNolio7 285
You've made me ten times more confident now. Every time I have seen anyone say were getting hammered in a pre match thread we get a result every single time, one example being this very fixture season before last. Haha, I really hope so mate. And Mourinho's tactics don't really allow for us to get hammered (or to hammer ourselves unfortunately). But after seeing City's display last night, with Silva & Touré already in top top form, Agüero ready, maybe KDB added to the squad, Kompany looking rejuvenated ... I really can't see us take much out of the game. I got the feeling that our entire team is struggling to find form.
ParNolio7 285
lose this one and things could be hard for us.city last night just looked stronger than usThey did but there's a big difference between WBA and Swansea as well.Swansea have a really decent team, I'd be surprised if they don't finish top half.WBA were absolutely awful last night. No desire, no intent to win at all. For the opening game of the season in front of your home crowd, that is really disturbing. We would've beaten this side as well. Don't know if 0-3 though...But yes, City played well and everyone looking really sharp and solid. Unlike us.

We looked fairly in control, but not really superior. And if Courtois hadn't been sent off, that chance would probably have meant 2-2 anyway.Swansea were getting in behind us way too easily in the beginning of the second half.
