Sir Mikel OBE 4,920
Remy has world class pace and a good strike, but Ba has better holdup play, stronger/taller and vision.Remy is a perfect counter attacking player, but when teams park the bus, Remy contribution will be little if any. Still a good signing considering the choices available. Put him on the wings and he can do a job in that situation.
BlueLyon 9,359
I would put Ba and Remy in same bracket honestly.Looking at their careers, Ba for now was more impressive IMO.Despite I wasnt realy for this move, you cant just slate Remy after one game ffs. He scored on debut and will probably do his job in next games. One thing is certain he is better than current drogba but still seems to be only third choice and that should be disscussion, not if he is better than Ba. Popular Post! Styles 9,790 Posted October 18, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted October 18, 2014 Thought Remy played really well today. He linked well with the players around him and was very positive on the ball. Solid performance and better than his game against Bolton. Solid performance and better than his game against Bolton.I think he didn't link up so well. He was dispossessed or passed badly in a few occasions. In the second he improved some, but in the first, I thought he was quite erratic. kellzfresh

Held the ball up very well and on the whole did link up very well imo. Did feel his work rate was a bit lacking though. Made very few runs in behind or in the channels. Tomo 21,751
Kind of what I expected really, good enough to fill in when and where but I can't see him giving Costa many sleepless nights worrying about his place.Personally I would have preferred we kept Eto'o as number two, however cant complain given it looked for a while that Torres would have still been here. Styles 9,790
I think he didn't link up so well. He was dispossessed or passed badly in a few occasions. In the second he improved some, but in the first, I thought he was quite erratic. He made some errors but I wasn't expecting a 100% pass completion. He made the right decision more often than not and was made some good driving runs with the ball. The turn and pass to Fabregas in the second half in particular was brilliant and very nearly led to a goal.
LAM09 7,056
He didn't really offer much today. If he does start on Tuesday, he will have make sure he is more involved.
mikeholiday 209
Decent link-up. Decent pace. Had more than one dummy and one of them led to Delaney getting sent off. Good game, Loic.
Blue Armour 4,439
Well he is an outlet for the midfielders. Not an outlet that directly leads to a goal, but just enough to hold the ball and give it back to them when they are no longer under pressure.I feel he would be more useful when we play on the counter and he has space to run into, but against the deep sitting teams like Bolton and Palace we would have to expect the goals to come from midfield. Myself 793
Looked very strong today, didn't really use his tremendous pace though.
Daniel1980 1,425
I thought he was quite good. He earned the crucial 2nd yellow for Delaney, made a few good passes, participated in the buildup for the 2nd goal. His general play was pretty good. Obviously since it was practically his first time playing with our starting midfielders, his chemistry with them wasn't as good as it could have been, but it will come. Tbh, I don't think Costa could have done much better in that game. That kind of game is difficult for strikers that like playing on the counter. kellzfresh 7,229
Did well in the second half. Decided to make quick turns around defenders as the ball came to him and it payed off.
Popular Post! Styles 9,790 Posted October 19, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted October 19, 2014 His ability to receieve the ball with his back to the goal was quality and was a key part of the game; it got Delaney sent off, helped in the build-up to the second goal and very nearly led to a third. It makes a massive difference for the team knowing you can pass the ball to your striker and he won't lose it.
