Lionel Messi

Disagree.

Teams need to make sure he fits, kind of like cr7. Arsene did not make sure ozil fitted with arsenal and put him in position to excel, so ozil essentially failed...

Messi should be the main man in every team, but he wouldnt just fit without a ton of tweaking..

Every logical rational manager would change his team selection and attitude with a Messi upfront, managers tend to make their team better, therfore, play for Messi.

Don't see it to be honest. Wherever Messi goes next, he'll want to be the 'main man' at said club (and not just because fee+salary would reflect it). There's no room for that at Chelsea, we've got Hazard/Costa/Oscar occupying those 'main man' roles..

Dare I say it, Lionel Messi could actually be detrimental to what Mourinho's trying to do with this squad.

Was more of a fantasy than an actual hypothetical.

And Messi's overall style of play has him as a free flowing attacking midfielder, to a deep play maker, to a striker, and a false 9. The lad could literally adapt anywhere and still produce outstanding performances.

We aren't even a club with a 'main man' to be honest as all of our individuals work with one another to benefit the squad. If Messi were to come here, (hypothetically now), we would see him and the team function like the Barca of 2008 and 2010. Playing on the wing whilst the likes of Henry (Costa), Eto'o (Hazard), Xavi, (Cesc) Iniesta (Oscar), Zlatan (Schurrle), etc, big club names who still work well for the team whilst Messi performing his free flowing game.

Barca have tried to sell him last two seasons, and Messi knows that - Guillem Balague

How much do a club have to pay for Barcelona to accept it? 200£m is his clause, but no club can pay that amount.

Is 110£-150£m a possible price?

According to Fabian Godoy, argentine journalist, Messi could leave Barcelona to come here in June of 2015.

The reasons:

- The Pressing of the spanish press.

- Foul of motivation in Barcelona and Spanish league. Wants new challenges.

- Problems with the directive

- His relation with Fabregas and their wifes.

This journalist was the first to advance of the output of Tata Martino of Barcelona.

What do you think guys? See this probably?.

if this really happens than for sure that means Hazard is going in the opposite direction!

Obviously... LOL as if any1 can pay 200m in 1 go, 100m is the max we can do and obviously that is not enough for them. Should we do it? 10000%

No offense but that is the biggest bs ever. LOL someone who left his family at 10-15 to leave abroad is now considering leaving his dream club(his words) because his friend left the team?

Imo the only reason is the tax issue and Barca faltering last couple of seasons. Don't think it is a motivational issue either.

He wouldn't come just for that. That would be a reason that would motivate him to choose to Chelsea in case of leave Barcelona.
At no time says that can come here ONLY for Cesc.

PSG and City can't afford him, if they don't sell at least two of their star players. Arsenal and mufc are shit(hope he thinks that). Bayern are a likely destination.

Of course Messi and Fabregas friendship(or the wifes friendship :P) makes us a strong candidate!

If Messi want to leave because of all the problems people mention, i see many reasons for him to pick us.

-Antonella have a BIG say in a possible move, does she want to live in a shithole like Manchester? I think London seems more likely ;)

-Xavi, tata and other people in Barcelona saying Messi would fit perfect in Premier league.. Does this mean maybe that Messi have said he wanna play in PL?

-Adidas. Will be a lucrative deal for Messi and Chelsea.

-We are a top team and challenging for silverware.
-Many portugese/spanish speaking players.

Potential transfers become even more difficult to rationalise or evaluate when you're on top IMHO.

I feel like Messi will be a central attacking MF or second striker at this stage of his career. He still has pace, but it's not necessary that he use it in anyone's starting XI.

It's so hard to know who would be a good choice for the future Chelsea RW at this moment. Lots of ideas/options who are not yet playing at the Big Four (Bayern, Barca, Madrid, Juve), but we just don't know what the future holds for CFC.

Wasn't Cesc his best friend at Barca? I know Cesc's wife and Messi's girldfriend are best friends. Just saw an article in the Mail this past week about Cesc and his wife out in London with Messi's girldfriend.

Not saying it's possible or probable, obviously.

Yes he was live on DirecTV yesterday. Godoy is a reputable journalist in South America and he also said an interesting thing - he knows for sure that Messi is already having private English lessons.

Although I doubt he'll ever leave Barcelona, at the same time you have to agree that there is no smoke without fire.
