"Diego is a forward and he knows that, in my idea of football, the forward must be a point of reference for the team. I don't like that a forward moves around the pitch. I like him to stay there [in the box] because you are a forward and your commitment is to score goals and to stay in the right position. You are a forward - not a midfielder, not a defender."

Good.

Hopefully this mean we done see costa trying to dribble past player on the wing.

Guess he didn't get the memo...

I have not celebrated that hard for a goal in ages. Literally went outside the house and screamed my head off. :D

He ran those defenders till their last breath. He has some limitations but my god is he ever an incredible striker. If he doesn't getting injured I'm expecting +25 goals for him.

FIRST goal from outside the box for us and big time to get that. :worship:

I came here to actually ask if it was Costas first Chelsea goal outside the box :D Stunning play Jason, answering before the question!

I hear ya mate. I was running round the MH Upper like a madman. And I looked over at the dugout to see Conte doing exactly the same thing. And I'd bet my last penny that Roman was in his box screaming as loud as we were.

I absolutely love him when hes on fire and I know its a very fine line between being on fire and acting a twat but unless he gets a hold of things like this this seaon hes going to get used to seeing the bench

I know it was a poorly executed challenge in the end, but he certainly had the right to make the challenge. Adrian took far too long, thinking he had the control of Neur (Pep, you watching?) and then quickly panicked as Costa came through.

I can't say there was any malice there, it was a Costa trying to wind up/hurt Adrian. In that sense, his temper was in control. His yellow was deserved, players have been told refs will come down on players getting rude. Let's see how consistent these referees stay though.

I like having the old feisty Costa back but hes going to be getting some bookings with this new ref rule.

And I think as soon as we get our defence sorted we should use 2 up front. We get Lukaku (specially for the fee we will be paying IF we get him) then the pressure will be on to make him 1st strinker. We team those 2 together and have a Eden-Chalobah-Cescy-N'Golo-Cuadrado midfield we would run riot over anyone. Well its how I'd like to see us trying.
