Diego Costa

It's the touch on his chest that took Szczesny out; Costa got his first touch absolutely right and didn't allow Szczesny the chance to close him down. The assist and the finish itself were both of high quality, but that touch to guide the ball into his path without breaking stride was sensational.

The touch was good but the ball was still bouncing and Szczesny could have come slightly further out to close down the angle. Not that I'm complaining about the goal but yeah, He completely took himself out of the equation really.

I think Szczesny waits to see if Koscielny can catch up with Costa and also which way he's planning to go. Only then he starts moving. I don't think you can blame the keeper here though. This should have been dealt with by the defenders.

Really doesn't matter who was at fault. That goal was class.

There have been rumours of Diego's hamstring injury since August but he still hasn't missed a match...

Btw I'm not worried. Remy is a fantastic striker aswell. The team seem to be working fine, I don't think losing Costa for a few matches would be a disaster. Hazard, Oscar, Fabregas and Willian are creating tons of chances and they score goals too.

Jose saying he was in at 9am Monday is quite concerning, but in the same breath shows you the character of the man wanting to be ready or at least try and be ready for Saturday.

Be great to see him start but the big picture is we do not want to aggravate a potential problem, and with some slightly easier games ahead against Maribor etc rest and fitness work is paramount.

Let's wait and see.

Don't believe it, Diego came back training at monday while he only had to report back at wednesday.

He also looked to take part in full training as well.

I'd be surprised if he doesn't play, however if he doesn't I'm not too bothered we should have enough to get through them with Remy stepping in.

If Hazard, Fab, Matic, Remy, Willian, Oscar can't find a way to unlock Palace?? Sorry just don't see that happening.

Rumors going around that he is out for 3 weeks, really hope that isn't the case.

That would have him coming back before Liverpool?

The run we have the next 3 weeks is not too bad without him.

Palace

Maribor X 2

United

and QPR.

I think Remy and our midfielders could handle this period for us adequately.

I don't think he's been at 100% since the end of last season. He looked off the pace at the WC too. My guess is he does have a slight hamstring issue which can only get better with adequate rest. He can still play but there's always a risk of it becoming a tear.
