We should've just signed Gabriel Jesus while we had the chance. I'm fine with Costa going if Griezmann is the replacement.

Yeah I think Jesus will be on of best players in pl soon. Only city player Im realy jealous they have.

Understand what you are saying and not discounting Costa's contribution or importance to the team

However, we did get 6 goals from 2 games without him (Bournemouth and Leicester) without him.

If we got 1 or 2 goals from those games, then yeah the worry understandable. We'll just need to spread the goals around

Yeah and those teams are very well in the table and played quite well against us, right?

Come on. This argument is a weak one. I could have scored against that lethargic  Leicester. But let's take from those two games that we could go the rest of the season without Costa. It's like saying because we won 4-0 against United we were going to beat all big teams for the rest of the season. One match doesn't define the rest of them. Also, we need Diego the most against better teams and ultra defensive teams. Why don't you look back instead to the games that were tough or that we were drawing and didn't have many chances and he's scored the winning goal or the goal that destabilized the other team and opened the door to a second after broke their defensive setup?

Goals aren't like board games where you just get to spread them around...

my only problem with costa is that he is not like Sanchez. When costa scores 1 goal in the match then he goes to bed i freakin hate that of him. its like he is finished with his job. he has only one brace this season.

2. before he scores 1 he must have 6 chances. when am watching chelsea and costa scores i just wish he would be subbed so Bats can also fight to score. after all Costa has nothing to prove so y not Conte let someone who has something to prove come on.

just take note ifhe scores even in the first minute then thats all.i sohate that aspect of his play. so if he wants to leave lets open the doors for him and bring in someone who fights to the finish

for your info chelsea has been a team that always spreads its goals. even the drogba days. i think chelsea has the highest scoring defence in the history of pl and i wont be surprised at that. vhelsea players hardly compete for golden boots in any competition. we just concentrate on the win. take note

Yeah 100% agree, I was just putting the point across that it wouldn't be an entire disaster for a few games, but you're right, after that the cracks will certainly show. I think losing Hazard would have more of an immediate impact

Sometimes i think we shift everything to the players agent what ever the agent does once the player does not come out to say otherwise then he agrees. When agents say thing that are false honest players come out to even in some cases warn their agents but if u remain silent it is an agreement

"Thibaut Courtois insists Chelsea can win the title with or without Diego."

I am sick and tired of the media misquoting/twisting words to try to attempt clicks or build a drama. That quote was way out of context on what Courtois was saying. Because let's be honest: we don't.

Yes sure we can beat the Hulls, the Swanseas without Costa, but when we meet a top half team we aren't good enough without him. I'm still wondering if we are good enough even WITH Costa after the 2-0 beating from Spuds.

But anyway, Courtois knows we need Costa and we have to hang on until the end of the season with him. Then if he wants to go to China and waste his career, fine.

While it would be tough without him, we already have a seven point league with a manager who considers league football the bread and butter (so much so he prioritized a points record over a European final in his own stadium) im sorry but this notion that we are in serious danger of getting caught is laughable (Also lets not forget he won a title unbeaten with Vucinic, Quagliarella, Borriello, Matri and a over the hill Del Piero as his strike options).

Yes it can happen and it's by no means over till mathematically certain, but ill put it another way, if we were 7 points behind an Antonio Conte team would you give us much chance of catching them? I certainly wouldn't.

Imho, this thread and the treatment Costa has been receiving is absolutely pathetic. The notion of him having no commitment is utterly nonsense and I have no idea where it's coming from. Is it that people think he didn't train because his head was turned by the Chinese offer? Nothing but a myth; Conte already cleared that up.

What isn't a myth, however, is his commitment on the pitch, where it matters most. He never backs down from a challenge, he tries his best all the time and inspires teammates in doing so. Even during his worst season with us, he single-handedly earned us multiple points by not giving up till the very end.

Consider the ridiculous criticism of his commitment, but also consider the amount of insults he's received through all this drama. Our player of the season, and our best striker alongside Drogba in the last decade or so, has been treated like an absolute nobody. It's almost as if people were waiting for something to attack him with. Ffs, we're not Arsenal. We don't disrespect people who've brought good to this club and not only that but the level of effort they've shown the pitch.

Knowing Costa, he will be fired up to shut up all the drama if he starts vs Hull. I'm confident he'll bag a brace in his return. Forget about what's gonna happen in Summer; He's our player till then and he's not the type of player to hide, that's why we have to support him.

We do have some fans who are overly passionate and while that is by no means a bad thing it can lead to them acting first and thinking logically later. Not just in this case, but with the "rats" and booing our own players after Jose left.
