Daniel1980 1,425
LOL The Dragonborn theme in that video. But in all seriousness, I'm glad he's a bully--we need more bullies--but he'd better tone it down a bit. The last thing we need for him to get suspended and leave us with Torres.
Sheva. 5,373
Good signing. Like at Atletico, he won't necessarily have 5 chances to get a goal (cough benzema cough) but he's proven the past few seasons he doesn't need that many to find the back of the net. I love his fighting attitude also, but he does take it OTT with the minor head-butts - needs to cut that out, and he probably will after his first ban Now i just hope Torres/Drogba isn't 2nd choice and we're ready to go. Blue-in-me-Veins 4,067
I'd like to see Costa score around 15 or more goals in the league if that's not too much to ask. It's amazing (and sad), how inept our strikers have been. Unlike previous years where we never relied on one out and out goal-scorer, this team i feel does. The likes of Hazard, Oscar, Willian (except Schurrle) don't really have goals in them, so all i ask is that our midfield continue to create chances and hopefully Costa put them away. Edit: But my God, those headbutts are gonna annoy me and everybody else if he starts missing games, just watch. I'm not big on this whole, having a 'cunt' up top, you can play with an edge without being dirty. He honestly shows signs of not being any better than suarez and his antics. The thing is, he hasn't been 'caught' or punished severely for them.

iseah100 5,612
You feel that that, everyone? It's the feeling of going into a season with a REAL striker. Can't wait, this guy will eat defenses up (not literally).
Popular Post! HD3D 1,038 Posted July 15, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted July 15, 2014 I must admit when the speculation started, I felt he could be another Torres. He has been an average striker for years and only recently had a magical season. But the more I learn about his personality, the more convinced I am about the fact that him being a cunt has its perks. He's the type of guy that plays with passion and emotion, he absolutely hates losing and always wants more and more. He's the type of guy who would have showed Wenger the finger upon scoring the 6th goal against Arsenal last year. Can you imagine him dragging himself through the field with a depressed puppy face and no confidence like Torres? I can't.This guy will either score 20 goals a season or he will murder someone trying. And go to jail. There is no way he will stay at Chelsea for 5 years as a flop. termninja, Sheva., Rambo and 2 others

The thing is, he hasn't been 'caught' or punished severely for them. Hazard definitely has goals in him, he just needs to be more selfish sometimes. He got 18 goals for us last season and even minus the penalties his record would still reach into double figures. Hazard was our top scorer iirc and even in the previous seasons he has proved that he is capable of getting into double figures.Hazard would have had more last season had we had a striker like Costa whose link up play was good. We did not have that really apart from Eto'o. His goal against Newcastle a perfect example. Now we have Costa, I think that will help Hazard, plus the addition of Luis there will be more of Hazard. Viper22 2,418
Like someone said before, this guy will single handedly win us games with his goals or die trying, his has that passion about him.The first time I see a defender pick a fight with him and he goes so mental he makes Joey Barton look like the Dalai Lama is going to make me laugh so much.As long as he hurts/annoys/trolls people in subtle ways (racking achilles, treading on toes, 'accidentally' leaving a leg in, going up strong in the air etc.) it'll be fine. Stoke don't exactly have the referees help and with the shit they get away with Costa will be fine with all that stuff. As long as he gets 15-20 league goals & 5-10 cup goals over the course of the season then it doesn't even matter if he does get suspended a lot tbh.Welcome to London Diego! More specifically the first (and likely only) club from this great city to win the Champions League. Eat shit Arsenal and Spurs.

RoyalBlues 4,050
Or maybe Ba is already on his way? Probably, but I'm still think it is a little bit lame reason, if only because of that, we delay the announcement. Considering Koke and others has return to Atletico for training yesterday, I think it is mainly because of his holiday after WC.

Popular Post! Madmax 9,219 Posted July 16, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted July 16, 2014 Okay, so I had some free time on my hands and decided to compare Costa's last season with other top forwards from England and Europe. I've used whoscored data so the usual caveats with their stats apply. I'm not sure how much you can read into the numbers but a couple of them should spark good discussion. I'll provide whoscored's definitions for some of the more disputed parameters at the end of the post.Diego Costa vs other forwards in 2013-14 : Diego Costa vs Chelsea forwards in 2013-14 : (Note that the 'passes', 'key passes' and 'dribbles' are all successful passes/ key passes/ dribbles and not merely attempted.)Whoscored glossary : Dispossessed- Being tackled by an opponent without attempting to dribble past themKey Pass- The final pass leading to a shot at goal from a teammateTurnover- Loss of possession due to a mistake/poor control hjperdeath, laura90, sodasys and 13 others
rantdeville 195
For all his virtues, and let it be known I support the isht outta this guy, I do remember him losing the ball quite a bit. For the life of me I can't recall which game it was against Barcelona, sometime during midseason maybe, but I recall watching him and thinking to myself, "holy hell this guy cannot keep the ball with his back to goal."In that game, there was a spell of pressure where Atletico were absorbing an attack which might have lasted a solid 2 minutes straight, and Costa might have gotten the ball 3-4 times and all he had to do was hold the ball for 5 seconds while someone ran off him, and each time he'd commit a turnover. And Barca would be back in. Granted, a VERY limited sample size to pull from on my part, but can't help to think we'd get punished for that against a more direct team (City, Liverpool, etc). Maybe Drogba just spoiled me. Who knows. iseah100
