Clockwork 1,794
Personally would sell him, this feels a lot like the Tavez situation when he was at City. A player that wants to leave, and it will hover around him until he gets the transfer. Of course you don't sell him for the sake of selling, I would push to get fair deal(not 20m obviously) but ultimately it is best for both sides.
akgw13 867
Seems as though Diego is holding us hostage. I don't like that one bit, a player pushing for a move and the other team knowing its only them and trying to low ball. We aren't forced to sell anyone and we don't necessarily need his money to fund our transfer plans. I say we keep him and bring in a big name competitor like Lukaku, if he doesn't want to play his ass off he wont be going to the world cup for Spain and we can play Rom who will score the same or more amount of goals, if he does we will be getting Peak Diego which is something i support entirely. I still favour the Costa + Cash/Griezz swap idea. But it would obviously take a commitment of Griezz which i find hard to believe since he has his little heart set on creating the worlds longest handshake celebration with his buddy Pogba Blue-in-me-Veins and King11Didier
Chelsea Legend 11 4,062
I think if we end up keeping Costa(looking likely) we should be looking to add a false 9... Costa and Lukaku are way too similar and not very good on the ball. If we tried to play them both up top we'd struggle with possession. I really want Lukaku because I think he's gonna be a killer but the timing seems weird, Griezmann and Lukaku look like the better pairing. scargo 75
If we can't sell him to China, it will be a big problem. He is only a good player for half a season, and he is getting more and more inconsistent. If keep him we can't compete at the top level.  blueblood22
Dahnald 256
Atletico won't be able to sign players coming summer...  Another season with the Brazpaniard Jeckyll and Hyde it is... Supermonkey92
Magic Lamps 11,692
So it is pretty certain now he will remain another year. I hope we sign someone who can challenge for the striker position. For at least one half of a season it is a crap feeling relying on him to score goals. Apart from the 2009/10 season we did not really have a player to score significantly more than 20 goals in the league. As long as Lamps, Mata and then Hazard provided a goal threat from midfield, this is not too bad, but I would feel much more at ease if we had a striker in the ink of Kane, Agüero or Sanchez, who can make chances for themselves, score consistently over the season and do not have a significant dyscrepancy in their scoring behaviour in big games and not so big games. Supermonkey92

BlueLyon 9,359
As much I defend and like Costa, this is very bad for us. I was expecting him to either commit to Chelsea, or be sold this summer. Now we will have player who wants to rejoin with Atletico for at least next six months which means he wont be fully 100% with us, then in january or next summer, he will be older, with just one year left and wanting to leave, nevermind maybe in poor form; that will give us zero negotiation power. Besides who does Atleti have that we would be desperately needing? Griezmann is not coming, Koke or Saul aint the players we realy need in midfield. So if Costa decides so, we will be stuck with player wanting out and very little money to buy proper replacement. Stats
