The only place to be 11,313
just got a thought, what if matic gets injured for december-jan (the busiest of the months probably). a pivot of fabregas-rambo? fabregas-mvg? rambo-mvg?if we buy cesc, our system will solely be reliant on matic's fitness and form cos fabregas-rambo pivot looks worse than lamps-rambo and we all know how that turned out.Chalobah.If City lose Yaya they're fucked. If Liverpool lose Suarez they're fucked. It's the nature of sport.Still not convinced that Fabregas is sufficiently good defensively or has a high enough workrate, but if Jose thinks he does then I trust him. Popular Post! DYC. 7,542 Posted June 3, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted June 3, 2014 Why does he have to be the so-called 'Lampard replacement'? If the club wants to buy Fabregas, it's because they think he will strengthen the team. Whether you agree with that or not is a different thing. This has nothing to do with Lamps. You can't have a top backup for every position. Every club has players that are irreplaceable. I like Fabergas a lot but I like him more with a different manager/different system. The Rising Sun 711
Matic - Fabregas does indeed sound really good.I am generally not as passionate about certain thoughts that i had 5-6 years ago even if there was bad blood then.Simply rating Cesc on his ability and the likely partnership with a defensive minded player like matic, and it sets a good balance for that position, and the rest of the team setup as well.I am glad that as a second option to our defensive 2, we are going for an attacking intelligent option rather than a defensive option again. We need an attack minded player to be able to do smooth transitions, so either fabregas or a player with those sort of characteristics is what i feel we need,We dont need another defensive rock next to matic..... we need the transitionary playmaker with a few goals. zolayes, jeronimo and boshman

DanishBlue 426
Hmm... I dont know if he would be the right guy for our pivot and I dont want him to take Oscars place. Has he ever played in a pivot? I always thought he was higher up the pitch.
Severinb 309
Doubt it will be easy getting him. Arsenals buy back and first option could be a problem. I mean are they really that stupid even if they dont want him why would wenger let us get him. I can see them getting him in the end!
