MrExcalibur100 7,124
If we can bring in Brozovic, I won't mind if he leaves. But if he does leave, it will be interesting to see where he goes. All this fanciful talk of Real Madrid just sounds like the machinations of his agent.

He's also a better player (at least in the 1st half of the season, when he usually shows up) but his shortcomings cannot be ignored. I can make a fairly convincing argument that his weaknesses as a player have hurt us just as much as  his strengths. Conte, one of the top two tacticians in the league besides Guardiola, recognizes(d) that.  Brozovic is not my first choice but I mentioned him since we're linked to him. But you're wrong to think that we need a world class passer in a midfield with Kante and Matic. That is you inserting your presupposition into what you think is a must have requirement to win the Premier League title. It just isn't and has never been. There are many examples of teams that won the championship without having world class passers.

If we want to compete against great clubs in the CL,we need to have a player that actually can create chances. Barcelona was the best team over a long time of period because they had world class creative playern like Iniesta and Xavi in their midfield, they had world class creative strikers like Messi,Villa and Henry in the front. Cesc played a huge role in our title winning season due to the fact that Cesc assisted most of Costa´s goals with great passes. When Cesc was not in form anymore,Costa also started to play bad because his good runs where useless. The reason for that was that Cesc did not play those balls that Costa needed,so Costa was useless. We had luck that Hazard was in his form of life and he delivered in the second half of the season, but Cesc played a huge part, also against the big team, in our title winning season. Cesc has his defensive weaknesses, but Kante and Mikel(I hope this Matic shit stops) can cover his ass,so he can concentrate on what he does best and that is assisting goals and creating chances for our strikers. The funny thing is that City plays with Silva and KDB in a midfield. They both are not players that are known for their world class tackling rates.Stil, they seem to do pretty well. AWorriedChelseaFan 151
Would be absolute madness if we let him go right now near the end of the transfer window, especially when we can't even sign new players to reinforce our squad. Â Fabregas is also the least of our problems from last season, sort out the defense first.

Because he's a more complete midfielder than Fabregas? He can actually defend. (Fabregas is a liability without the ball, even when he plays as a 10). Is mobile? Is more athletic than he looks? He has fantastic technique. Can pass. Suits Conte's style of play much more than Fabregas? You just can't highlight Fabregas' greatest strength and put him on a level that is not his true level.

Why wouldn't Fabregas remain? Much like Schweinsteiger in our Northern counterparts' situation we're the ones who put him on a long-term contract and made him one of our more important members in the past. With 3 days to go in the window where's he realistically going that's going to offer him better terms than we are? I genuinely don't mind keeping him because he showed against Watford what he can do off the bench when opposing teams are more tired and it's easier for him to win the ball and play that sort of defence splitting pass. My problem is that the man starting ahead of him, who offers no credible attacking threat in himself. Thank fuck Hazard doesn't let him take penalties when he asks - There's always that one guy to point to statistics  xPetrCechx

milka 3,394
Fabregas could leave for #Juventus, who are still interested in a midfielder following #PSG's refusal to sell Matuidi (DiMarzio) #CFC
Blue_Fox_ 2,086
They got Pjanic, they would wipe their arses with Fabregas. I'm so glad he's sitting on the bench. A fantastic pass now and then doesn't make up for his lack of every other attribute any decent midfielder should have. robsblubot

Popular Post! bababoom 4,478 Posted August 28, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted August 28, 2016 Love the man, his weaknesses are well documented but he's definitely one of the best playmakers in world football, technically outstanding. Once Conte brings in some defenders and gets more acquainted with the squad i'll be shocked if Cesc is not in starting line up week in week out. Fernando, King11Didier, Barbara and 3 others

Pizy 18,904
Hope he's given a start against Swansea. He's got this international break off so plenty of time to improve his fitness and get up to speed. mccg
Popular Post! CHOULO19 24,332 Posted August 29, 2016 Popular Post! Share Posted August 29, 2016 I'll say it again: In terms of ability he is our second best player behind only Hazard. We WILL badly regret pushing him out without getting a replacement of the same caliber. Heisenberg, Chelseabluerising, mccg and 2 others
