He did not even play bad today.Matic still survives.I can´t believe that shit

Lets not be revisionist with history. He WAS bad.

Just not as bad as Matic,Willian, and Hazard alongside him.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Chelsea fans spent 2 months campaigning for Fabregas to start and he immediately gets exposed. Fabregas is FINISHED as a top level player.

He genuinely cannot move. There are 60 year olds who play badminton at my local gym who have more agility and lateral movement.

Please never mention his name again. Don't embarrass yourselves.

Not sure how you can blame Fabregas after that. You can't think of anyone else who deserves more blame?

I'm not blaming anything on Fabregas but if you don't think he played like trash and is one of several players that need to be fucked off ASAP then I'm amazed.

Fair play.

Finally got his chance and he was ghost.

Shouldn't play in big games anymore. Should play against the lesser gods (outside top 10) this season. I'd sell him in the summer. I actually wanted him replaced last summer but no replacement came. Was calling for him to play because that other midfield is so painfully unimagintive.

My thing is, if he can't play big games then don't play any games. Just fed up.

I swear we are the absolute worst at getting rid of over the hill / under performing players.

People really used a good 45 minutes against 10 man Leicester reverses as proof of his usefulness.

He wasn't even our worst midfielder today to begin with. Atleast he offers something forward in comparison to Oscar, as can be seen against Watford, Leicester and Swansea. Of course Fabregas isn't a monster when it comes to defending like Kante, but as most advanced/creative midfielder he isn't supposed to do that much defensively, I mean we started two DM's to do that job, but somehow Conte feels that Matic is a box to box midfielder. It's also not his fault that Matic was so bad that our defence got totally exposed.

Again, no one listened to me before today :) The bench is his rightful place and that's about it.

I agree mostly everything with you except Mourinho.

I still think Conte is a step up and the club did well sacking Mourinho.

Thought this was the wrong game for him to be starting in. Would start him against smaller teams but not against big teams where they have the majority of possession.

I don't think its really a question of small team or big team. He has been crucial in some of our wins against Arsenal last season and in the one before that.

Yesterday was just a shit performance from him, and the rest of the attacking midfield. That being said, I would start him over Oscar and Matic in any of the games, big or small.

Fair points, Cesc is really the only one that can link up with Hazard and find Diego's runs. I just feel that our backline is so crap that we looked like we were going to concede every time Arsenal attacked. They need babysitters...

I hate the way he panders to Chelsea fans on Twitter as if he's some club legend and not here because Barcelona didn't want him. He should be nothing but an impact sub now and only start in those cup games against lower opposition. No more of this "start Fabregas" nonsense.

I don't get why people think that the arsenal game was case in point for why he shouldn't start.

1.  I think we play best when fabregas comes back deep to get the ball.  This means that I don't think think playing him #10 is best for us.  I agree he looked ineffective there.

2.  How is he supposed to get the ball when kante is the one trying to get the ball from deep.  At one point you had David Luiz screaming at kante to just be brave enough to stand between the two center backs far in our own zone, and check for the ball, receive it and turn with it.  Problem is, he doesn't have that quality.  He tried it a few times and was shambolic.  Fabregas is the closest thing we have to a pirlo in that sense.

3.  I love how people want to blame him for being weak in defense when we've given up how many goals this season that had nothing to do with him or he wasn't even on the field for?  Especially when everyone is claiming kante is a shoe in starter and then he gets turned like you all imagine fabregas would get turned by ozil, leading to the second goal.

come off it.

Fabregas needs to play. He's the only central midfielder we have that can pick a pass. The only player besides Hazard that has any creativity to offer.

Arsenal dominated us with a midfield 3 of Coquelin, Cazorla and Ozil. From a defensive point of view that's the equivalent to us fielding a midfield of Kante, Fabregas and Hazard.

Yet we're stuffing our midfield full with worker ants and then act suprised when we can't string three passes together.

Tbh it doesn't matter who starts now as the season is likely going to be a write-off.

What Saturday proved beyond doubt is that Fabregas is finished as a top level player and that he absolutely has to be moved on just as quickly as Cahill, Ivanovic etc.

i don't agree that season is finished. We only played 6 games in the league, there is still 96 points up for us. Also we are still in both cups. 3 weeks before we were talking about challenging for the league and now we are religation favourites? Lets just hope that we don't see Iva and Cahill in blue ever again and smash Hull with alotof goals to gain some confidence

Thing is we have no dynamics in there with Matic and Cesc. Meanwhile Coquelin, Cazorla and Ozil are all dynamic enough to work when they have the ball, to move it around quickly.

We decided to play defensive, thats why we thrown Matic, Cesc and Kante. Meanwhile Arsenal went attacking and thats why they picked those players.

But we entirely fucked up with tactics. We should press them, take control and dictate tempo. Arsenal has no players to outpower us in such case. That midfield would be useless for them in case we actualy pressed them and attacked alot.

But we went opposite. We allowed them to have all the time on the ball, to set up attacks and to press us which killed our midfield entirely.

Like some pointed Oscar would be much more useful in this game than Cesc or Matic. Thing is, Cesc was always good against arsenal (only good side he performed well against), but thats because they never pressed us. However they prepared well for this game. Any team that presses us, kills us.

And Arsenal finaly managed to figure that out too. Thats why Cesc didnt play well.

I know we have midfield problems, Matic and Oscar have their faults, but Cesc shouldnt play again against teams that press. His passing is quality, but he completely destroys the midfield with his slow movement and lack of agression and mobility. And with such midfielder, there is no way we will succeed because its like playing with 10 men. Now Matic is a problem too with his slow movement, so if we had two Kantes, maybe maybe Cesc could play, but in current case no way.

He is absolute shit under pressure and all teams are starting to play those tactics against us.
