Superblue 6,372
For what RDM is trying to play for the rest of the season, Kalou is our best option for one of the wide berths. Mata in the middle behind Torres - Kalou and Sturridge on the flanks. Both can alternate so they play as inside forwards or wingers depending on how the game is panning out. Try to make the opposition think a bit more. That way Mata is in the middle but we still carry a threat around him. Ramires can then move back into the centre where is has excelled this season, not on the right wing alongside a more defensive minded player like Essien, Romeu or Mikel. capriccioso 2,545
Someone's got to be given a run. Kalou or our number 15, Slo Mo Flo Mo.
Superblue 6,372
It's either that or change the shape of the team to a diamond, playing Mata in behind Torres and Sturridge/Lukaku.
CHOULO19 24,332
It's either that or change the shape of the team to a diamond, playing Mata in behind Torres and Sturridge/Lukaku.even when we did play the diamond, Anelka always ended up going wide. Our team is too used to 4-3-3 and the similar formations.

Jase 43,479
Have to say, as much as he tends to miss open goals, he does usually pops out with a goal or two when we really need it.That said, it still doesn't alter the fact that he's average at best and probably needs to be sold in the summer. Jype 6,398
If his current wages weren't so high (more than Mata I think) I'd certainly give him a new deal in the summer. Even though he may not be the most talented of players and occasionally misses easy goal-scoring chances, he always gives everything he's got for the team and usually doesn't complain about the lack of game time. Not all of our current players play with such passion and that's why I find it hard to dislike Kalou even when he plays badly. And of course like today's match he scores some important goals every now and again.
Kieran. 6,317
Well done to Kalouinho, worked his socks off and scored one of the most important goals of his career. BlueLion. and LDN Blue
Jase 43,479
Picked up this stat from Twitter:Chelsea have now won the last 10 games when Salomon Kalou has scored. In fact, they've only lost 3 in 55.I'm speechless...! capriccioso and BlueLion.

capriccioso 2,545
I'll take off my Kalou-tinted glasses for a moment, even if that was true Villas-Boas was unfair but still within his rights to do so. That's one way to deal with contract rebels. When I put them back on I'll be ranting about how this is basically a form of pre-Bosman abuse of the working rights of the footballer. robdog 2,084
http://www.mirrorfoo...icle884216.htmlI don't want to belive that this is true.I believe it. As people are starting to point out, AVB man management skills are a bit underdeveloped. Maybe he needed to learn this lesson, one that Di Matteo probably experienced as a player. I think AVB will take this as a lesson learned. Kalou on the other hand has been a terrific servant for this club. He takes stick from CFC fans from all around the globe, but dude keeps playin & sometimes is golden. Kalou I salute you!!! capriccioso, BosnianLion and Las7

manpe 10,861
Picked up this stat from Twitter:I'm speechless...!It's because he usually scores the last goal in 4-0 games after coming on as a sub. It's amazing how one tap-in screws with people's minds. The antichrist of Chelsea FC suddenly turns into an unsung hero. But I must admit, he didn't disappoint against Benfica, he played slightly above his standards. But his standard is something I don't want to see in Chelsea, or 80% of the squad for that matter. Kostas and francozola
LDN Blue 7,903
Err hang on a minute. Fergie does the same thing with contract 'rebels', Pogba and Morrison this year alone suffered that. It's the right approach afaic, because he only wants to train those players who are committed to André's long term-plan. Kalou made it clear he was evaluating signing because he was frustrated at lack of game time, which means he wasn't fully focused in training etc. daBlackMamba7, francozola and Madmax
