Koke is one of those players I actually wouldn't mind. From the limited game time I've seen from him he seems like more than just a good upgrade on Oscar. That being said I don't have a clue whether Koke is a consistent performer or I have only seen his better games.

He wouldn't be playing week in week out for Atletico if he wasn't a consistent performer.

Consistent and doesn't disappear when big game arrives. Broad and hard to shove off the ball - he's definitely an upgrade on Oscar

Because that's such a good indicator, JJ. I guess Oscar is performing well, too, since he's starting more or less every game?

I believe in Jose when he says Ruben Loftus-Cheek will have an important role in our first team next season.

So I think it's best to sign Koke than Pogba because Pogba provides similar characteristics with RLC.

Instead Koke is another type of midfielder capable of assuming the role of leading the organization of a team game.

Pogba is physical strength and Koke is tactical intelligence to move a team. Both are tremendous players, but if I could choose one I prefer Koke.

Personally I would like that we could sign Koke and Kondogbia. Would change Matic - Mikel - Ramires - RLC - Ake - Fabregas - Oscar to have Matic - Kondogbia - Ramires - RLC - Koke - Fabregas.

I think we would have a very complete midfield.

Regards to ALL.

Favoritism isn't exclusively a Mou thing, though, is it? And hell, I don't watch Atletico games regularly which is why I asked about Koke, smartass :P

But Mourinho take it to the extreme more than others, no?

And smartass? Thank you...

Might be the case but that was not the issue here. I just wanted a simple answer to the question in my first post instead of talking about bar-room wisdoms.

Well, I gave you the answer before you dragged it further than it needed to, smartass. :P

Well, Simeone is no Mourinho, is he?

Sanchez is playing regularly and he has run out of steam since his fine form in the beginning. Wenger still plays him, and he played Ozil to when he was struggling.

Carlo still plays Bale, eventhough most Real Madrid fan are ready to cut his head off.

Koke has proven a lot under Simeone, no manager is going to bench such player because of bad form. It is just impracticable to do so, and short sighted. You risk the player trust, and dent the player confidence and security.

Every manager does so.

On Koke

I am going through my Mac and all of the latest Atletico games i have downloaded, and if my memory is correct here i would evaluate each of his game:

If anyone disagree let me know becuase how i remember those games. It should be said that Alti have looked back in recent months and i did not watch Alti game to be critical of Koke so if he had a bad game i probably didn't notice.

Vs Barca early Jan- No impact

Vs Real Madrdi also in Jan- Thought he did well. Torres turned back the time in that game, with his 2 goals. Griez and Suarez was not bad either.

Vs Granada- No impact, don't think he was anywhere near best on the pitch. Gabi and Turan performance i can remember it was pretty good, and Manduz penalty is most i can remember in that game.

Several games he did not play, was he injured i can't remember? I thought he did get injured against Real, can't recall completely.

Vs Sevilla- He came on as a sub

Vs Valencia- Scored the only goal in the game.
