Share Posted July 5, 2013 I know this is going to sound silly, but I hate when the interviewer/press people do this:How much do you look forward to that first day of pre-season training on Monday?I look forward to it a lot. It's not scary, but I will be a little bit nervous maybe! Playing with players like Frank Lampard and John Terry will be a huge thing. I played three years at Vitesse, but the Premier League is very good, and I will enjoy playing with these players with this experience.They prompt the new/young players by specifically mentioning Lampard and Terry but don't add it in their question. It doesn't sound sincere at all when you watch the actual interview. If the players wanted to specifically praise club legends like Lampard and Terry they'd do it, there's no point coercing them into doing so and acting like you haven't. I have seen it plenty of times when the interview is on the club channel and then the printed interview is very different.It's like when Joe Cole mentioned this about Liverpool:"When I joined, the guy interviewing me said 'you've joined the biggest club in the country' and reeled off the trophies they'd won," he said. "I just said 'yeah, if you put it like that, I suppose you're right' and Liverpool used that as the headline to the interview. "I didn't want to upset anyone so I just went along with it. But obviously they're not the biggest club in the country any more." The club must be contractually obliged to big up Terry and Lampard at every available opportunity because otherwise it doesn't make sense.
