Chelsea v Everton

That wouldn't work because that's 2013-2014 season - squad registration and all...

If we do have to play Arsenal, I think the most likely option is cancelling one or two of the post-season tour matches.

Both of them should be scrapped anyway. After a gruelling season i don't know what was in the minds of the board to add another 2 games to our schedule.

With the weirdness of this season, i do genuinely think we will end up in a play off against Arsenal. Its just so obvious if you think about it.

we do not need to cancel them. They bring welcomed money and cos there are no regulations we can simply send some youngsters to USA. This is a showpiece, everyone knows that and I am pretty sure this idea of buying European teams for post-season matches won't get popular anyway, so we do not really need to perform there at all.

To be fair, both teams will probably put out a second string lineup. So it's fine. Although the extra Travel remains...unless we just leave a few key players out completely.

Mazacar should be completely left out to rest.

There is a very small possibility of a Premier League PlayOff for 3rd place

"If at the end of the season... the question of qualification for other competitions cannot be determined because two or more clubs are equal on points, goal difference and goals scored, the clubs concerned shall play off one or more deciding league matches on neutral grounds, the format, timing and venue of which shall be determined by the board."

Possible permutations
Any of following score combinations would ensure Chelsea and Arsenal finish the Premier League season with identical records:
Chelsea draw 0-0; Arsenal win 2-1
Chelsea draw 1-1; Arsenal win 3-2
Chelsea draw 2-2; Arsenal win 4-3
..........................................................

No more games please! Chelsea, just win and confirm 3rd!

no MAZACAR whatsoever.

give luiz a rest.

give marin a chance, a last chance to prove his worth.

ferreira to play his last game.

let torres' last game be the europa league final in which he was really good.

Erm, that team isn't going to beat Everton and get the 3 points we need to secure 3rd!

trust & believe in arsenal... they ll bulb and drop a couple... :) plus we just need 1 point, right?

I would rather complete the job ourselves and not rely on others to screw up OR do the job for us.

Getting 1 point might do it but looks unlikely.

3. Chelsea - 72 points (GD +35)

4. Arsenal - 70 points (GD +34)

Arsenal could easily beat Newcastle by 2 goals given that they have been in poor form and us drawing Everton then would see us dropping down to 4th and facing an unwanted CL play-off next season. OR worse, we could end up having to face Arsenal in a play-off to decide who finish 3rd if both of us finish with the same points, goal difference and goals scored. Best to just play the strongest team possible, win the game and don't have to worry about others. After all, it's our last home game of the season. Better to end of a high as well after the recent good run of results.

And oh, I doubt that team you suggested there would even be able to take a point from this.

seems legit but i dont think we ll play a team much different to this.

rambo is suspended, luiz, azpi, & lamps desperately need and deserve a rest, hazard under no circumstances should be used for this game.

we ll end up putting something like this

cech

ferriera cahill JT ryan

romeu mikel

moses mata/oscar marin.

BA.

marin should be given a chance in my opinion.

By the way, this game is played on the 19th May. One year after winning the Champions League! :cfc:

Therefore, Rafa should put in strong line-up. Just to say good-bye. The last game of the season & Chelsea should try to win it, I feel. After all, Chelsea should end up ahead those nippers of Arsenal.

Even if we drop to 4th, playoff won't even be that bad because Milan will also be seeded.

Our lineup should be very similar to today's simply because we lack options

Absolutely, our co-efficient is good enough to ensure we are given a "favourable" draw - the hardest team we'd come against is on par with the likes of those we've beaten in the Europa League this season, such as Sparta Praha and Steaua Bucharesti.

Arsenal WILL win on Sunday. Newcastle are a - shit, and b - safe. That means they'll play it at walking pace, knowing they're staying up. So we really could do with three points, BUT it wouldn't be a disaster.

Fourth place > Spurs
