Only important goals I can pick from this list is Arsenal...and he only scored because of Koscielny and one of his brain farts. The United goal was completely cancelled out by his miss of the millennia that followed and I don't count the Barca goal for much, since we had pretty much won already. £50m and 175k+ a week to score against pub teams (and mainly at home)? I would've rather let Sturridge do that to be honest.

Brilliant job in collating this list. This is quite sad tbh.

Meeerrrr so much hate >.<

FYI, Last time Van Persie scored there was a solar eclipse :P

Don't hate the player, hate the facts bro.

Brilliant job in collating this list. This is quite sad tbh.

I actually felt a bit depressed after putting in those leagues and stuff....

So much hate for a player who is the most accomplished player on the Chelsea roster and it's not even up for discussion. I put the blame on both the midfield and Fernando for his scoring against mainly weak teams, and in all honesty the style we play does not fit a striker like Torres who needs through balls and uses his pace to beat defenders. Chelsea tries setting up around the penalty box way too much, rather then supplying Torres the ball a little past midfield. Just watch him play with Spain and you will see the difference.

 how is collating a list of his goals "hating"? They are just the facts. How the hell is he the most accomplished player in the squad? You can't be that deluded? Torres' pace isn't the same anymore - and to use Spain as an argument is quite funny because they pass around the box even more than we do. Torres doesn't even get called up to Spain anymore. Spain use a false 9 system, they don't even play a with a striker. I'm tired of these excuses now. 2 years of subpar performances and people still have the nerve to insult the rest of our squad just for Torres' sake.

O yea no through balls right?

Most accomplished player. That made me lawl. Other than Euro 08, what the fuck has this waste of fuck contributed other than nausea?

He was a goal scoring machine at Liverpool.

- 2x Euro

- 1x World Cup

- Golden Boot winner at Euro 2012

Look I'm not trying to defend that guy that much, he has definitely been subpar at Chelsea and that's all that really matters in this case. But you can't argue with his international achievements.

His goals against Swansea, Reading, Newcastle, Arsenal, Norwich, Shakhtar, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Brentford, Steaua and Rubin were all important goals. People need to stop with this myth that Torres never scores important goals!

That's not the argument though - the argument is that he scores against the lesser sides.

He's the player who's won the most trophies, not the most accomplished. Accomplished implies that he won those trophies with his hard work when in reality he had very little to do with any of those trophies except the 08 Euro. By your logic, Brown and O'Shea are two of the most accomplished players in the league.

yes it is.

I meant in the context of scoring against a top side, sorry if that wasn't clear.

The majority of the teams you've listed, we should've won with or without Fernando Torres. If Sturridge played in those matches for example, I'd imagine we would've won most of them as well...do you want to know why I can make such an assumption? Because Mata has 18 goals, the same as Torres, and 30 assists - THIRTY - while Hazard has 12 goals and 17 assists (not including the penalties he's won); losing either one of those players would be much more detrimental to our side than losing Torres.
