RoyalBlues 4,050
Unfortunately, it is more likely for him to stay rather than Lukaku. Seeking for his buyer, is always only in a dream anyway. Brace yourselves, another year with Torres.2 more years, people, 2 more years left.

wilander 35
Please, sell him!Leave him leave with no transfer fee is OK!Don't expect any income from his transfer-out fee!

The only place to be 11,313
talk to me when u get something else to say!!! tired of having the same argument!!!as for not "needing" lukaku. please!!! just like we dint "need" sturridge!!Sturridge's hold-up play and his ability to drop deep and bring others into the game with his passing would be very useful. That's the one positive to take from Torres's presence. On the ball he's still got some quality. Bizarrely he's probably still better than Lukaku at holding the ball up with his back to goal, although neither is as good as Costa or Drogba. Lukaku is 21, even if his play with the back to the goal is not as it should be, he is still a massive threat and definitely more than torres. MrExcalibur100 7,124
Is he really an unsellable player? Why not offer to pay him out for the last two years of his contract, say pay him the rest of his wage and sell him for cheap? Or viceversa, buy himself out and agree a settlement with the club for the exact same fee?Or why not give him the Bogarde/Malouda treatment and put him in the reserves? Or make him 3rd/4th choice striker? If we really wanted to make his stay here untenable, we can do so.Anelka left, Sturridge left, Kalou left, Lukaku is leaving and this guy remains at our club? DOING WHAT exactly? How many managers and players must we lose because of his ineptitude? I have to question who makes the decisions at this football club. Mourinho has already said the guy is not a striker. WTF is he still doing here? Pay him out, take your losses and tell him to fuck off! I just hope Roman is not interfering with anything because this doesn't make sense anymore. Mufassir08 and zolayes

For all we know the club might be looking at selling him.

didierforever 7,349
this is what our strikers cost us last year (according to wagnh)torres = 19miletoo = 7milba = 6millukaku = 2mila total of 34milwhat our strikers will cost this seasontorres = 19milDD = 4mil (higher estimate)costa = 16 millukaku = -16.4mil. (considering his transfer fee to be 19mil from anderlecht and just 24 mil from everton) (very high estimates) (can be as high as 26mil if his clauses were not triggered out hence making his transfer fee as low as 10mil, and his transfer fee to everton being 30mil pounds).a total of 22.6mil.if we sell torres for even 5mil. thentorres = 13milcosta=16milDD = 4millukaku =-16.4milba = -0.75mil which makes a total of 16mil(round figure).considering we can atleast match the amount we spent of strikers last season, we have 18mil pounds in FFP terms.we can buy another striker worth about 32mil and at wages of 185kpw. selling torres with the lukaku deal done, makes perfect sense. if torres does not not leave, it will be cos jose and the board want him to stay, no other reason. The Skipper 20,609
If we do sell Torres for even £5m, his yearly cost would be much less than £13m because you have to subtract his wages from that too (around £9m I think), so in reality that cost would go down to £4m. It can be done in both ways though I think. Regardless, I do see why the club want to sell him for around £20m now though.
