Fulham Broadway 17,722
Not much a fan of stats, but there are a lot worse in terms of game to goal ratio strikers in the league than the round shouldered misfiring one. Andy Carroll 35m, has a ratio of 5.3. games per goal. Cornelius , who ? Exactly, 0 goals in 8 appearances. Torres has a ratio of 3.7 games per goal. Whilst we're on misfiring potential Shed heroes, Shevchenko had a ratio of 3.5, and those of a certain age will remember Mr Robert Fleck. An outstanding 48 fucking games scoring 4 goals. All very academic, and in this day and age of instant gratification sought by fans, Senor Torres exceeds in a general capacity to exasperate. LAB 1,030
Well, you can't expect Jose to really go out on Sky Sports and say that we literally are unable to sell him for well-known reasons, so the 3 strikers thing was the next best thing to say. Jype 6,398
Please be true, Wolfsburg are one of few clubs who could actually afford his wages. Not going to get excited just yet but at least he keeps being linked with various clubs which is infinitely better than what we've had in the last few years when there were not even rumours that he might be on the way out and there was absolutely no hope. zyzz 711
Well Wolfsburg are definitely crazy enough. They paid diego ribas more than €8m. But are they both crazy and stupid? Dion and iseah100

No fee. Just get him as far away as possible. Let him have his massive wages he doesn't deserve SOMEWHERE ELSE. HD3D 1,038
If we are to keep him, do you guys think practicing alongside Costa and watching Costa do what a striker is supposed to do, can somehow give him back his confidence or make him relearn some of his old killer instinct? If that couldn't help nothing will. Tomo

Tomo 21,751
Torres is an Abramovich signing. Mata is not. He's been treated with kid's gloves from the moment he stepped into this club. We reconstructed our playing style because of Torres. We signed attacking midfielders galore to get the best out of Torres, even to the detriment of our team. We started an entire season with only Torres as the recognized striker. Better strikers have gone because of him. We've handed everything to him on a plate. It can't be just about the fee we've paid. I'm not saying Jose is a yes-man. I don't believe he is, BUT Mourinho is the manager. He's also an employee and takes orders even on some football related matters. He said it himself. Torres was an Ancelotti player , Wilkins said as much, we were going to sign him in the summer before but he changed his mind and penned a new deal at Liverpool. Barbara 15,149
I know B. I just think Lukaku is:1. Too limited at this time to play for us.2. But a good striker still for a mid tabel teamTorres gets sympathy for so long its just killing me. We are Chelsea, we need men, not boys (or girls , hence my remark on emotions with torres) leading the line.I had sympathy for his psychological issues, but you cannot keep indulgent into that. We are no social institution catering for Torres' gentle psyche. When i talk about double standards, its not about you at all saying this. Its about a 21 year old with a big mouth getting crucified as an asshole, coward, .... while Torres really cost us the last few years and gets excuse after excuse. He has been one of the best, but here he has been one of the worst. We would not accept it from Hazard, Oscar, Matic, Azpi ....... Anyway, i dont rate Lukaku that much, as i said before a number of times.I kinda think Torres however doesnt have what you need to make the cut, technically, mentally, ambitiously, .... Despite his former palmares. He is not a warrior.Torres isn't a fighter at all. He's a bit way too laid back too. I look at him I see a blondie - I call him in Portuguese 'a loira do Tchan' 'Tchan Blondie' - a girl from a brazilian band of a decade ago, whose purpose was dance and twerking to their terrible songs, showing her butt, legs and tits. Torres is there to show his pretty face and sell us shirts because you can't count on him for something else.Maybe if he had a stronger character he'd have recovered some of his old form, but in many ways he looks like Hazard in that department (thank God though Eden is very talented), too relaxed, but at least he didn't give stick back because he gets a lot of (deserved) stick from fans and media. That one time he said he doesn't care if Chelsea lose or win, he lost it, acted out on his frustration, but it seems he learned from it.If I had to choose who's to leave the team now between him and Lukaku, I'd choose him every day of the week. If Lukaku was willing to be our #2 it'd be much better than Torres being even our #4. I want Torres out, I can't deal with him in the pitch anymore, I was just advocating he's been on good behavior because he must feel like shit at some moments and there's so much the money comforts him about what a huge failure he actually is.Lukaku could have stayed. I can overlook his big mouth and entitled attitude, but I can't overlook him being a quitter because he didn't want to fight. That's when my problem with him increased a lot, which is why I wouldn't want him to come back, no matter how good of a striker he becomes. If you're a quitter now, you'll always be a quitter who will run when things get thick. You probably know that better than I do as it's your field of expertise... He speaks so much of himself because deep down he doesn't think he's that good and therefore he doesn't stay and fight because he's dead afraid of failing and it destroying or compromising his career.I should probably be more patient with him and cut him some slack because of his age, but I have such a huge nitpick for men that don't man up. Damn it, if you a man, honor what you have between your legs. I think there's nothing that bothers me more than a man who doesn't behave like a man and that's why I can't overlook a 21yo that isn't even a mature man yet, but he failed exactly in the thing I can't stand. I'm quite aware I'm too harsh on him. I'd be on anyone though because of that nitpick of mine. Stingray
