SinineUltra 1,170
I think Torres will be here also next season, I don't think it would be bad actually - we could use a more profilic striker nevertheless, but he isn't a bad option. He is behind Lewandowski and Ronaldo in European competition top scorers, that's something. Plus 22 goals is good in any way you look at it. He is also featured on the new Adidas kit pictures, whereas Lampard isn't - speaks for something.

Popular Post! Pacquiao 1,834 Posted May 16, 2013 Popular Post! Share Posted May 16, 2013 Fair play to Torres scoring 22 goals this season! He has looked like in the last month or so that he has got that pace and acceleration back that he had at Liverpool! And he shows it again last night! I don't care how many games its taken him to score over 20 goals at the end of the day you still have to put the ball in the back of the net! Playing 60 plus games doesn't mean you will automatically score over 20 goals, it doesn't matter who the opposition is you still got to put the ball in the back of the net and Torres has done that! I want him to stay next season as he keeps improving every year, he has adapted now to this team! He has some of his pace back now, all he is missing is that swagger and confidence he once had and who better to give him that than Jose? As long As Jose wants him here then I can see Torres improving again next season! I doubt he will be first choice so he will have to fight for a place in the team next season but I think he is up for that! If Jose can just put his arm around him and give him his confidence back then I think we will start to see what we paid for a lot more next season rather than glimpses like we saw last night! He still seems like he has too much on his mind at times he can't seem to make his mind up quick enough when he gets the ball he is not sure whether to pass, shoot or dribble past a defender, in the end he takes too long and loses it or give a bad pass hopefully Jose can make him more decisive in the final third, but I guess that comes down to lack of confidence as well! You can see he has improved though under Rafa when the ball is given to him at his feet his first touch doesn't bounce off him as much and he usually lays it straight off to a team-mate which is what I want to see from him when he has his back to goal, and as I have said he looks a lot quicker lately his pace and acceleration have improved and he is looking more dangerous because of it! If Jose wants to work with him and improve him I really think Torres can be a very very good player for us next season! CHOULO19 24,332
If he stays Jose will do the Kaka treatment with him, if he wants regular football he has no choice but to look elsewhere. He'd be what when his contract here ends? 32-33? I honestly can see him staying and seeing it out.
Styles 9,790
Fair play it was a decent goal. Hopefully some other clubs were watching and will be interested.
BlueLion. 21,491
[cynical]He's finally found his level. Made for the Europa League.[/cynical]Haha, in all fairness, well done to the lad. Proper dug in last night and pulled out a top performance. Beautiful goal, reminded me of the Nou Camp!

Fernando 6,585
I still would sell him.It was the same last year, good beginning, woeful majority of the time and then good at the end. We all thought that Torres was back, and then another mediocre season that ends on a high. Now we think he will back again?Fool me once, shame on me.Fool me twice, shame on you.Fool me a third time........ Hutcho 8,443
Best game in a while FT. I still think we should try and take whatever we can get for him and run. But if he was to stay, (with Mourinho coming in), he would only get played when he deserved to and we won't go into the season with just 2 strikers. In which case it wouldn't be the worst thing ever. Still would rather get some money back and save some wage bill to make room for whoever we want to bring in. But still, credit where credit is due for yesterday's second half performance. yuvala 2,167
Dont know if he should leave .. he certainly dont want to.I dont mind him staying, as long as he would only play when he deserves it, and as long as we buy a good striker and not rely on Fernando. LondonPride1905 236
He should leave. He is not for us and just this season proves it. I loved and stil love him. He was my favourite player outside of Chelsea, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be realistic. He does not provide us with much. I would like to see him in pre-season and eventually under Mou. But I am not so sure he should stay. Great game yesterday though!

bluesman2610 1,417
not saying he is the reason cause there were so many other factors but since we have signed him we have won both major european trophies

Ronaldo 28
The only two teams he can go realistically are Monaco and Atletico... Probably moreso Atletico, since I don't think he wants to go to another foreign country again at his age.
