LondonPride1905 236
It's just him saying that he isn't happy with the fact Di Matteo not having faith in him , nor in the full - time or the penalties. Maybe he is even trying to push Drogba to get kicked, but I don't believe it's that. He is showing respect to the fans once again. As his fan I don't want him to leave. RamiCFC9 258
I see nothing wrong here.Torres is big name, big player he wants to be valued and apreciated and be valued not only by the fans, but by his teammates and manager.Just like Didier Drogba is right now, everybody is talking about Drogba man of the match, hero, legend etc.I see nothing wrong with a MAN (who has proven his talent, unlike fellas like Sturridge) who is confident in himself to standout and say that he isn't happy as a reserve. What i think is that he just want a real chance to prove himself, not like before when he was surrounded by vultures around him like Malouda, Sturridge who would rather die then pass to him and a beast on the touchline, ready to take his role if given the chance.I actually like his attitude he either be given the chance (but real chance) to be our number 1 or just sell him.And about the time, well this is the right time actually he is sharing his thoughts and desires before Drogba (eventually) is given a new contract and before we have a new manager. jjd06e 37
I don't think he is saying he doesnt want to be here. I think he is basically saying he wants to be this teams #1 striker or else he would like to go somewhere else to be that #1 option. Problem is he didn't earn that right in his time here. We are going to have to decide whether we want to let Drogba go and not sign another top striker and go into next season with Torres the #1 option, or whether we are going to want to bring in someone like Falcao and dump Torres in the process. Las7 951
Frankly, he can go bugger off some where, he was given #1 spot Drogba was shifted out and it's only his hopelessness that allowed the Big Man to rescue our season. Instead of asking for a clarification he should take a long look at himself, the support match going fans have given him is unmatched, the amount of time Carlo; AVB and RDM have given him is also frankly too much. With these type of comments after what was the greatest night of Chelsea FC History - hopefully people will realize how much more respect legends like Drogba deserve, how much support they should be given in their zenith after giving so much to the club. Torres you ain't nothing but another player through the Chelsea ranks, who you were at Pathetico and Looserpool is irrelevant - until you produce the type of Performances Drogba has in his time here. zolayes 14,489
let's wait for clarification ,,,remember the shit stirrers want to cause chaos ... IF he isnt happy it is up to himto sort himself out or we sell him ..At least his recent form will have cut our potential loss and IF Roman learns his lesson it might be worth it

Popular Post! The Big Drog 1,110 Posted May 20, 2012 Popular Post! Share Posted May 20, 2012 In one way I sympathize with Torres, he is a household name who we signed for a British transfer record sum of 50 million pound, he was expected to slot into the Chelsea team and replace Drogba and everything would be great. We all know that that isn't how it worked out, for a number of reasons. His own fitness, his loss of the explosive pace he had previously, his difficulty in fitting into a rigid Chelsea system and the heavy competition from Drogba (all of which led to him losing confidence) meant that he became a source of ridicule worldwide, it must have been really difficult for him. That being said, his form has improved in the last couple of months, he has regained some of the confidence that was lost, he looks sharper and he looks quicker than he did in his early Chelsea days. That being said, nobody expected him to start ahead of Drogba last night, I doubt he expected to start ahead of Drogba, in a way I suppose that must be a blow to him, to go from being considered one of the greatest strikers in the world to now not even being a serious threat to the 34 year old Ivorian's place. He might have expected to start alongside Drogba or on the right wing but given that our mission was to contain, that was never going to happen from the start. What does the future hold? Drogba wont be here forever, he cant start week in week out, if Torres hangs around (and assuming we dont sign a world class striker) then he will probably be first choice for much of the domestic campaign next season. However if Drogba sticks around then what happens next season if we get into a Champions League final again (touch wood), does the manager choose a Torres who has been playing every week or does he pick the ultimate big-game performer in Drogba? Torres is in the prime years of his career, he wants to be the main man in these big showpiece games, playing second fiddle has never been part of the plan for Fernando and that is why I think these talks between Torres and the club are a good idea because I think it is important that he gets clarification of his role next season.Personally Id love him to stay, I think he is still an excellent player who, in the right system, could be an ideal replacement for Drogba (big ask) but if he is told that Drogba will still be the main man on the big occasion or that we will be in the market for a top quality striker then it probably would be better for him to leave. Popular Post! Henrique 9,133 Posted May 20, 2012 Popular Post! Share Posted May 20, 2012 Oh do fuck off Torres.I dont think so. He just came and said what he is feelling. RDM made a mistake when Kalou started over him, and made a mistake when he was not selected to take a penalty (Mata wasnt fit for it, it was clear he would lost).Torres had a difficult season, and after he said "And especially to the fans, if it hadn't been for them this season I would have given up." I think is not fair to say "fuck off".He is 100% right. He must know whats next for him at Chelsea. I think if the club sees him as just another good striker in the squad, then its better for him and for the club to leave. He already won an UCL with us, after all, and played a huge part on it. BleedsBlue 1,549
As soon as I read this article,I came straight here hoping to know all of your views. If you ask me,I think it will be best for both parties to let him leave because its highly likely that Drogba will remain and if he does so,then I don't think the club will meet Torres's expectation of being played as the number 1 striker. At 34,Drogba is still better than our number 9 who is still 28.We all can understand why Torres would want to leave,he's had some decent 18 months with club but for 50m,you could say that he could do better and maybe he can but not at this club.God knows what's going to happen in the summer but I am sure it'll be an exciting transfer window.Maybe a transfer to Barcelona?Who knows,it could happen. bluesman2610 1,417
i think we are jumping the gun here, he said his time here was the worst but we are taking it out of context..when Torres arrived his career was in shambles and he admitted that if it wasn't for the support of his family, upper management and most importantly the fans he would be where he is today...i think him wanting to know what his future at the club will be is a valid question, personally i like nando always have from his days at athletico it would sad to see him part but with the form hes been showing i think he also deserves a chance at the #1 spot..not taking anything away from DD because he is a legend for this club but i don't believe Torres is past it..either way should be an interesting summer

RDM made a mistake when Kalou started over him, and made a mistake when he was not selected to take a penalty (Mata wasnt fit for it, it was clear he would lost). Are you actually serious here? It was obvious that Torres did not want to take any penalty, it was obvious quite a few times that he was saying no and pussying out when RDM approached him. Also lol at it being a mistake to starting Kalou, worked out pretty well didn't it? Even if Kalou wasn't impressive, who knows how Torres would have done playing all game on the wing? Joker10 946
I don't see anything wrong with his comments, the only thing wrong with it is the timing. If he had said he wasn't surprised and not disappointed by not starting then personally i would have been disappointed in Torres. I don't think he should feel like he is Malouda or Kalou, accept a rotational role and be happy as a sub. He is the club highest paid player and should expect to play in the club biggest game.He did also say he was very happy to contribute to the game in the end.I would have been disappointed in him, if he is happy just being a role player instead the player the club paid 50m for.I think he has also every right to know what the club expect from him and what his role is. It is the best interest of all parties, he wants reassurance the club thinks of him as their #1 striker not as Drogba backup. bloody
FormerRussianSpy 163
Even without waiting for clarification, it looks to be a textbook case of news media making a meal out of nothing. Just consider those quotes in the context of his celebrations and even his performance last night. It makes little sense that he would say something so pointed and negative so soon. FFS have some damn faith in the guy...the last thing he deserves is a "fuck off" from his supports. smh Cosmin, bloody and zolayes

BleedsBlue 1,549
Now if Danny had been quoted saying something similar,I am sure you guys wouldn't look at it an empathic manner like you are doing with Torres.
