Nothing to do with glory hunting. If we fail at losing the FA CUP the CL and fail to secure a top 4 finish... it will be devastating and will hurt for quite a while. I won't want to watch football after suffering that outcome either... but I know I will because I'm a sucker and I love football.

This!

There were times when I almost wished I could just stop caring when we played like shit and atmosphere in the team was depressing like in the last weeks under Lamps, Mourinho mk2 or AVB. Where I wished I could just take one week off and maybe this time not watch Carabao Cup 3rd round vs some League two team. Needless to say I just could not. Of course a few hours later I would still watch every Chelsea video on youtube and tune in the most meaningless game at 8pm sharp.

I fell in love with Chelsea when we grinded out that 1-0 win at the old white hart lane in spring 2004. It was my first time ever in a football stadium. If anyone remembers the old WHL, it was an intimidating stadium, built like a prison  with tunnels so narrow even my 9 year old self had to squeeze through. It was not a pretty game but so combative and I just could not help but appreciate how every one of our players gave their all to fight for every 5m advance or throw in. I have followed Chelsea since and for the past 14 years I have watched also more than 95% of all our matches including pre-season. Chelsea is the only club I support in any league or sports and it still takes up a big chunk of my time. So when I take a break from football this summer during the euros it will only reaffirm my affection. International football is not worth it anyway.

I wonder if PSG will at least try and unleash one of their actual CF's against Citeh

crazy stats

extrapolating out to 4000 minutes

Icardi would have 36 goals, 18 assists

Moise Kean 32 goals 4 assists

obviously both cannot rack up 4000 minutes each, but still those rates are cray

Werner at 4000 would have around 15 goals and 15 assists, and has missed at least 15 he should have scored (I do do not think that is an exaggeration at all)

Tammy tracks (at 4000 minutes) to 32 goals and 16 assists

Pulisic, shockingly, is only tracking (at 4000 minutes) to 12 goals and 4 assists (he has 6 goals, 2 assists in 2023 minutes, all comps)

Giroud, 38 goals (obviously not sustainable) and (shocker) zero assists, but of course he is not capable of playing 4000 minutes in a  season anymore. I do think we may need him to in the huge 2 or 3 Cup games left, he is our huge X factor, along with Kai

Ziyech 13 goals, 10 assists

Mount 10 goals, 9 assists (POTY for me, regardless of that not so massive production, as he does SO much elsewhere, same as Kante, my 2nd choice for POTY)

CHO 11 goals, 11 assists (and that is playing a lot of wingback) productive at many times, I still think he comes good

and

Havertz  12 goals, 15 assists

all of the assists figures would be so much higher IF Werner could fucking finish like a proper forward

Just shows. Being an offensive coach like Pochettino doesn’t always yield results in big games. City tactically brilliant. Also Ruben Dias and John Stones both excellent, Dias is an absolute colossus of a CB.
