But we won, he said we would've lost. Besides, Napoli attacked and couldn't break through most of the time.

Try reading...

LIKELY is the word I used...

I didn't say we would have Definitely lost...

FFS - read what you want to see, just to prove a useless insignificant point. RDM is fucking gone and good riddance... (Harsh but this RDM love is fucking annoying now)

Gave MOTM to Cole - but Azpilicueta was just as good, & so were Luiz & Ivanovic. Thought Ramires had a decent game too defensively, but the rest were average (if that) at best. Our attack was tentative & ultimately futile for much of the game until the latter stages...which was my greatest immediate fear with Rafa's questionable tactics on the front foot. Pointless substitution bringing Romeu on for Mikel - should have brought on Marin or not bothered at all because Romeu just isn't that great a player from the evidence he has provided thus far - & it was an obviously conservative move that indicated Rafa was happy with the draw; which I wouldn't exactly say I agree with. Moses really needs to learn how to pass/cross the ball properly, because he wasted at least 5 chances to create problems for City's defense from decent positions; yet failed to deliver anything with the final ball.

Overall, not a complete disaster by any means - but an extremely negative performance - lacked ambition going forward despite the obviously much improved stability at the back. You don't win games with that formula - not when you have a striker who can't get a shot on target.

Once again though, quite obviously missing Lampard's presence & passing in the middle of the park...hopefully Rafa decides to integrate him once he's recovered from injury so we will be more of a threat going forward, especially in bigger games such as this where there is every chance of getting a more than vital victory that tends to decide the title race.

All in all there may be hope if we can use the defensive security to our advantage in a more adventurous attacking mentality.

Oh & watch Rafa's post match interview with Shreeves...made me LOL

My bad, missed that. But based on what would we have likely lost? It's easy to just spout out things like that.

And my goodness, calm down. Getting worked up over nothing.

What are you talking about Sheva? That has nothing to do with it.

And this season he won 1 out of 6? I'm sure we played more games under Di Matteo.

Of course we did lol, but I'm talking about our last 6 under him. After the Juve game I fully expected to lose this, but Rafa coming in and talking about trying to stop them gave me a bit more confidence, and we got a better result.

A result I would have loved against Juve, Man utd or Shakhtar (away)

How can you change anything with 3 training sessions?

Benitez just met all of the players!

RDM was different he already knew the players...

Just give RB 5 games then slag the bloke off - if he is failing to perform!!!

i know i am being highly unfair to benitez but that is what it was with rdm. the sacking was "unfair". he dint deserve it. i know we should look forward because it simply cant be changed but such an unjust thing can not be simply left unattanded. and dude it was u who said that rdm tactics were not good enough and that he dint have a plan b, what did benitez do today? the exact same things. mata on the left, oscar in center (man marking the deep lying play maker), hazard on the right. moses as the supersub. everything was the same, if there was some mistake then it would have been corrected or atleast we would have seen some difference today, but we dint. the only difference was luiz defending well for a change.

The guys in Studio analysed it - Mata was forced out wide and the defence were being more Zonal

Not bad for 3 sessions...

Please just give him time.

Nobody here is responsible for RDM sacking, so why are we against each other?

Like I say feel free to prove me wrong in 5 games :)

I hope for CFCs sake I'm right though... ;)

Mehh I never believe in such claims. We could've won with Di Matteo, we could've lost. We'll never know.

A team winning a big game after a poor run of games isn't something that has never happened before in football.

The team was the same because that is our best 11. As for tactics I expected him to be more defensive than RDM has been lately, do you think we would have lost to Juve had we played like this?

Of course, it happened last season against this same side - but it was unlikely, just like it was last season and we needed huge luck to even win that.

When David Luiz stepped up to take the free kick from the longer distance, I simply knew exactly the result. It was an absolutely wasteful free kick, like a back-pass to Cech almost. Either bang it aka Alex or Lampard or put it that way someone can deflect it.
