lucashm 340
He has been named in Squawka´s best eleven of the season as a CB  . Finally getting the recognition he deserves Blue-in-me-Veins, DYC. and kellzfresh
El P. 1,354
Despite Spurs game, I think he is one guy we should take risks for. If we will play 3-4-3 long term... Bring some giant CB in place of Cahill to compensate Cesars' Â lack of jumping ability (Van Dijk for example), maybe even put the tallest guy in the middle, and Luiz at the left CB, why not? It doesn't compensate anything when opponents are specifically targeting him and bypassing our "giants". Cahill himself stands at 1.93m, same height as Van Dijk, and is our best defender in air. This in itself is not a problem, the problem is that we need to stop crosses from coming in so comfortably, until the Spurs game we did that fairly well. kellzfresh, El P. and MefiX19
Unionjack 7,531
Not one of us I dont think denys Dave is proper good but we also have to admit that hes got his weaknesses too. Nobody dislikes the lad,, hes Chelsea thru n thru. But if he makes mistakes and teams are going to pick them out then its something that needs to be looked at/
Unionjack 7,531
Theres been 13 players upto now who have played every minute of the 22 games played. Dave is oe of them. We also have Tibo in that list. most of them are keepers and the rest defenders. With Kean and Gibson 2 of them which shows theyve got something worth us looking into. And nobody can say we doint need any HG players cause we are totally fucked in that department and will be even worse with JT and Bego going it will leave us with 5!!! We top them up currently with 3 under 21 player. And hopefully with RLC out on loan it leaves us even shorter. Its going to be a problem for us. Leif 6,006
You can already tell he'll go down as one of our most underrated ever. Lists will cover Desailly & Carvalho before him, but he's in the conversation with those IMO. He seemingly has such a non-existent ego that I can't imagine he'd ever imagine where-else he could be but Chelsea. So he must be committed to us in his mind for the long haul which'll only be great. In my eyes our Terry replacement. Despiadado.Maleante
Chelsea? 892
So does this count as an Emanuel signing? Or we not giving him credit cause it worked so well? volfan89

No, credit goes to the scout who actually suggested him to the club. If you're going to give credit to a club official for doing some paperwork then what's next, credit to Willian for putting on his shoes? Leif 6,006
2 hours ago, Chelsea? said: Ok, so why does he get the blame when a signing goes bad? Because during a handful of specific times & transfer windows, not every single season, he was unduly given the right to acquire players, often through the limited contacts he has (agents) who in turn have had a limited pool of average players a lot of the time. Also, if you can't see your boss bringing anything positive or motivational to your enterprise you have to find a new one. He's only here in the first place because he was friends with the right people; he has no record, and here, he has not produced any shining results. Our few obscure purchases who turned out incredible, like De Bruyne & perhaps Lukaku, and Courtois too, were found by 1 scout only, Piet de Visser. Every club with a competent board knew about Hazard before we get him. Point is, he shouldn't be the guy who evaluates talent, he doesn't have that quality; yet he embraces the role like a dickhead. Our scouts go out and find a handful of players. Of that handful, Mr. Em is the one who picks the few that the club will decipher further. Too often, we have gone for the wrong options, and even disregarding that point, he has shown no true quality (unless you can highlight?) to have such authority over who the club take deep interest in.

Good signings are due to some random scouts you don't know and the bad singings are from Emanuel. Thanks for clearing it up

The Skipper 20,609
When Christensen is back next season, how about we have Azpi as the LCB? Makes sense to me as he's much better on the ball than Cahill.

nono 791
Is it just me or is Azpi very limited going forward ? He really struggles to get the ball out at times and ends up hoofing it back to Courtois.
