haranr 485
Oscar is good in this cup, I dont know what are you on about...Define "good". He is absolutely average! He hasn't had a world-class performance or something near since that second half vs Croatia.
Popular Post! bluesman2610 1,417 Posted June 26, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted June 26, 2014 There seems to be a clear agenda against Oscar from the same few posters in the thread.. Instead of backing your player until he is no longer your player and making him the scapegoat before season starts why not begin with clean slate for 2014-15 and we go from there.. and for Oscar contribution to his national team bar the first half of first game which is down to nerves I can imagine the kid has been good and not average .. In retrospect same guys slandering Oscar for being average in this thread are praising Hazard for a "brilliant" 10 mins vs Russia .. Maybe its time we let these young players play through their slumps before we start criticizing their talent because it is easy to sit at home on a computer and comment on how poor a player is doing Gilvorak, kellzfresh, Korea and 7 others
Gilvorak 3,734
How has Oscar been poor? He's doing the job of two men in that midfield ffs and has done it brilliantly.1 goal and 2 assists in 3 games isn't poor by any stretch. His only "bad" performance was against Cameroon yet he still won 4 tackles and grabbed an assist in that game.EDIT: Apparently, the 6th highest rated player so far this World Cup. Only Messi, Robben, Van Persie, James Rodriguez & Benzema are ahead of him. Neymar just behind in 7th.

BlueLyon 9,359
Define "good". He is absolutely average! He hasn't had a world-class performance or something near since that second half vs Croatia. What is good for you? Messi esque?Oscar does the most work among any other #10 in the world, count that into his performance. While James and others have free role, Oscar has important role in defence. So far, 3 games, 2 assists and goal. Averages over 5 tackles per game, 3 dribbles, but yet no one seems to notice that. Thats average? Wtf? People expect from Chelsea players to score 5 goals every game or they are not good enough, while having knee jerk reactions on James, Origi,...its funny, what you dont have is always more appealing right? And please, he was poor in second half of season, but he was very good in world cup so far.And he is our player, at least support him. I guess once season starts and Oscar puts fine performances, you will among few others jumping on his bandwagon and praise him, telling everyone you always knew he was great. lionsden 4,689
Exhibit AOscar can never please him...Its a lose lose situation. I ask again what talent? Your definition of talent must be different from mine.I suppose talent has levels as some will argue anyone that makes it as a professional footballer is talented. even Heskey is talented based on that criteria. My own definition however is having high aptitude or skill that is above average ability (average in this case refers to the average footballer) and be able to do those things at a proficient level be it passing, shooting, control, set pieces, heading, vision, dribbling etc. I can't apologise for having high standard
Popular Post! Barbara 15,149 Posted June 26, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted June 26, 2014 Just ban this fucking idiot. He seems to have free reign to spout shit everywhere he wants...He worships Hazard - the only Chelsea good player in his eyes - and then spouts shit about nearly everyone else according to his mood. And then he calls himself a supporter... I don't know what's his notion of the word support as he's predicting Oscar to flop harder because Luiz isn't here anymore. Brilliant example of support, don't you think? We shouldn't ban people only for being disrespectful towards others... lack of common sense should also be a motive. He's annoying, writes some of the most stupid comments in this forum and seems to fill bushman shoes just fine. No one should have to read such poor posts so often from the same person. Daniel1980 1,425
FUCK DEFENSE! HE IS NOT NEARR A WORLD-CLASS LEVEL PEROFRMANCE. HE IS OVERRATED! SELL!He may not be a WC player (at least not yet), but he's a good player nonetheless. I like that he's quite versatile and can be used on many positions. Not every player has to be world-class to be useful. His work rate is good. There are much worse players in the team that I would like to see gone before Oscar. And defense is important. Though of course it isn't the most desired attribute of #10. iseah100
iseah100 5,612
We've seen flashes of what Oscar can do. I think he's more of a number 8 than 10 though. He's extremely versatile can play on the wings too. We should keep him another year to see if he is more consistent. If we get a crazy offer like we did for Luiz in January, depending on how he performed and who is available we could sell. Until then, patience people, patience.
