Ollie 4,400
We're big favourites we win with the bookies so i'm guessing PSG will be playing a rather young inexperienced team and we will have most of our main men featuring. Looking forward to this a lot but looking forward to watching Hazard mostly, the guy's dynamite. KO time is bad for me personally but i will suffer tomorrow happily if we play well. Leif 6,006
So - this'll be my first game on this forum where I'm not completely drained and half-asleep (Seattle W.)Prepare for some words + language you've never heard before if we score/concede, even though this is pre-season.Apologies in advance. CHOULO19 24,332
Lamps on meeting friends in the match:It may be a pre-season game but in New York tonight but nothing adds interest like opposition with significant Chelsea history.Paris St-Germain, who we face in the Yankee Stadium, have that in abundance, not least their current manager Carlo Ancelotti.'Everyone at Chelsea has a lot of respect for Carlo,' says Frank Lampard, who shared the Italian's two seasons at Stamford Bridge.'He was an amazing manager and an amazing person, and it will be nice to meet up with him, as it will Paul Clement who was well liked by the lads, and Nick Broad the nutritionist and Claude Makelele as well.'Carlo winning the Double in his first season at Chelsea was amazing but I remember him as the man as much as anything because of how personable he was.'You could talk to him on a normal level and even the day he left the club he had a couple of beers with some of the lads. He was just a gentleman through and through so I have very fond memories of his time here.'Clement, one of Ancelotti's s assistant coaches at Chelsea, now performs a similar role at PSG, as does Makelele who retired from playing at the end of last season. Lampard in the past has made no secret of his admiration for Makelele as a player and he always saw a potential coach in the former France international.'He was very experienced and he had a lot of words of wisdom at important times because of the teams he had been involved in, and the things he had won before,' Lampard says.'He has a sound business head on him as well and he can be a good club ambassador or whatever role he is asked to do. He was a great player and he was held in great respect here.'On the pitch for PSG these days is Alex, our Double-winning central defender who left Chelsea in January.'Alex was a great player and another great lad,' acknowledges Lampard.'He was a fantastic defender and you won't find a person at Chelsea who has a bad word to say about him. He was a fantastic pro and trained very hard and he was a really nice man. When he arrived he didn't speak the language much but he made friends because he was a gentle giant.'I don't think there is anyone in the game who hits the ball as hard as he does and he scored some fantastic goals for us. The one I remember most is the one at home against Liverpool in the Champions League to get us back in that game. I won't want to be in the wall if he is taking free-kicks against us tonight!'http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2857085,00.html
Hutcho 8,443
Should be a great game. A few of our youngsters have gone back so we will probably see a more senior team for a longer peiod of time. Hopefully hazard gets at least 60 mins and Marin gets more than the 45 he got vs seattle. And Please, please, please DO NOT PLAY BENAYOUN.
Leif 6,006
I actually think this would be a good match for Benayoun. This is pre-season after all, so it is in part about experimenting, right? So why not chuck Hazard on the right wing, De Bruyne on the left (may as well try him there again. Marin could play the 2nd half), with Benayoun behind Lukaku? No one can deny that Benayoun was great when used properly at Arsenal!

I cant see him staying tbh unless he wants to sit in the stands all season. And instead of experimenting i ould like to see the 16 players that will have big roles for us this season given the chance to gel together and and become better as a team than playing players who won't feature as an experiment. He is still good enough to contribute but yeah, given the overall strength of the squad now, benayoun maybe surplus to requirements

Mata or hazard will have a permanent (injury and occasional rotation for lesser games the exception) positon there, so if you assume that the 3 behind torres is something like Ramires, Mata and Hazard, then if mata can't play for whatever reason we have 2 players extra who can come in. On top of that its not like raul merieles can't play there. So imo he is 3rd choice for just one position, and if you put oscar which apparantly is close then he would be 4th choice. Really don't think we need him at all. Also i know Marin is a winger and won't play there though he could come in and be shifted wide so Hazard or whoever will play there. So in terms of pecking order he is actually 6th joice Attacking midfielder, with the possiblilty of becoming 7th choice.
Magic Lamps 11,692
can't wait for hazard Hazard u are better than messi....read http://www.footballh...ht.net/?p=35530Nah. Hazard might be too "complete" to become like messi. Face it: The only two thing sMessi is probably the best in the world is dribbling past defenders with close ball control and finishing from close range. Well that obviously suffices to make him "best player eva". But i want to extinguish some common myths about im:1. "Messi is extremely fast": He has a very good acceleration and a decent sprint speed, but nothing more. A traditional (like to call them this way because they are actually that old-fashioned in their style, they almost only can run) British winger as Walcott, Lennon, Bale are waaaaaaaaaaay faster than Messi. In our squad I would say, Ramires, Bertrand, Studge, Hazard, Torres, Kakuta and maybe even Cahill are faster than Messi. In the CL-semis I saw Messi evading a sliding Challange from Cahill. Even though Messi run straight without changing direction, Cahill stood up, ran overturned messi and challenged him successfully. So cahill is at least faster without ball than messi is with ball.2. "Messi is a great striker": Messi is actually not an areal threat, so he is no real no 9 in that sense. He also can do nothing with a ball that is played to him when he momentarily holds the striker position3. "Messi is a great winger": Have you ever seen Messi putting in a decent cross: In my definiton of winger, they have to give some sort of service.4. "Messi is the best footballer ever": Well I always thought defending would part of football, but in the aftermath of our victory over Barca, so said it would be anti-football so i have to change my mind... not. And Messi sucks at defending. poor positioning, poor retrieving, poor tackling.5. "Messi is such a lovely, humble guy": Which lovely humble guy would make himself guilty of multiple assaults during only two matches gainst us, such as the push against lamps (which was actually so weak it put lampard rather 10cm towards messi)6. "Messi is the greatest player ever": Really he is? who can tell? he probably is the best at what he does, but can u really compare a best player of messi's style to the best CB or the best GK?
