Danelka 209
Let's hope he turns out like Berbatov did then..To be honest though, I don't see how he'll fit into United's system. With Rooney playing that fake number 9 role, constantly, Robin does seem the type of forward United need. Welbeck & Rooney work so well as a pair because Welbeck isn't that main CF, his movement & pace allow him to link up with Rooney a lot better than Berbatov. It's why Hernandez plays well with him too (except the latter can't score outside the box 5 meter line )Fixed it for you Anyway, I don't really want him here, I wouldn't like to experience another RvP-Huntelaar(Torres-Drogba) situation.I agree that we need to sign another striker tho, but it shouldn't be someone high profile, because then next year we'll have 4 options to 1 place, which could mean either Sturridge's, or Lukaku's carrier is ended at Chelsea.Isn't there anyone who can be loaned? Dzeko/Adebayor?
Marvin123 530
really cant seehim going to united, unless Fergie has gone senilei believe when he signed berbatov and that didnt work out brilliantly and the n later on got linked with David Villa im suire he said he would NEVER spend that sort of money on someone that age again, but still... Rooney and RVP with Kagawa behind
Bir_CFC 3,455
I rather he go to United than stay at Arsenal. Chelsea needs top 4 and no way we're making top 2 this year, so if the top 2 get better that's fine with me for now but if the next 2 CL spots get easier to obtain then I'm all for it.Maybe it's just me but I'm genuinely worried about the 2 CL spots this year, there are a lot of good teams (Us, Spurs, Arsenal & Liverpool) that if any overachieve we HAVE to match them otherwise we can be screwed big time. Muzchap 8,966
In all the world our only option for attacking for squad depth is a £35 million player? Really? In London alone we could nab Defoe and RVP. Both are proven scoters in the PL and would offer us squad depth, we don't need a superstar wanting to play every game. IMO.I muted other strikers and got shot down...I would have Berbatov in a flash, even Dzeko...I would even consider Owen on a pay for play type contract - he can score goals no matter what people think of him... NiclasCFC 2,582
RvP signed a 4 year contract with Man Utd. Van Persie: "It’s an honour to sign for Manchester United. I'm looking forward to following in the footsteps of so many great strikers."

diskoviolente 425
Massive blow for Arsenal. First Van Persie, next one to sign off might be Alex Song. To be fair though, they´ve bought some good replacements. For some reason I can see Podolski doing well under Wenger. He seems to understand Podolskis impulsive game and his complicated ego.It never gets boring in football, that´s for sure.
Naked Mole Rat 437
To be honest, I don't think this deal will make a whole lot of difference. Arsenal ship out their key players every year and still manage because other players usually step up their game (so they can be shipped out next), and from United's perspective, good addition, but I doubt he'll be a special player there. Melanicus 5,208
Wenger is legend! Such a good manager... It's also good move for Arsenal... They got a lot of money & lost a one season wonder player.
BlueLion. 21,491
RVP is good, but he's not great. We should be more sore about losing Didier, than they are of losing that one-season wonder. Injury problems galore.
Tomo 21,751
Despite the competition and threat to his place, Rooney wanted RVP there and relishes the competition and now knows he has to up his game even more.Hopefully Torres will have the same attitude IF we sign Cavani. Santiago. 1,500
Venger's quality as a manager is truly remarkable. But he lost his winning mentality ages ago, which is needed in football today, as well as a spending budget.
