He retired a few years ago and I didn't hear anything about him, but recently, he seems to attend every Chelsea game, talks about Chelsea every week, appears on Tv, giver interview to chelseafc.com.. The Skipper 20,609
We've seen him play better but that was one of the most clutch Eden performances here. Delighted. We need to get better forwards for him, he's playing with a massive handicap with Costa atm. Still dragging us through. kellzfresh and Blue-in-me-Veins

Nevertheless, thoseΒ three are the top 3 dribblers on the planetΒ right now.Β They are probably similar at dribbling alone: like you said hazard is more explosive, but Messi has tighter ball control which helps in tight spaces, which in turn helps more in the CL. Messi is way ahead concerning visionΒ and also ahead concerning goals and tight control of the football, hence his advantage in the CL stage.Β IMO Ronaldo does not come close to messi in termsΒ of tight control and working in tight spaces as he needs some space to work (hazard does too to a lesser degree). Ronaldo has power though, which makes him an aerial thread in certain conditions; in tight games he's more of an aerial threat than anything else. Personally, I'd not exchange Hazard for Ronaldo. Stats 7,227
Hazard is defo the POTY for me, regardless of whether Kante wins it. I think a lot of the media understandably are amazed by Kante's rise and link to helping two PL teams win the PL but Hazard has been the key player in winning games. The amount of games where he has produced MOTM performances, let me name. City, Home and Away, Arsenal at home, United at home, Bournemouth at home, Swansea at home, Leicester at home, West Ham home and away, Everton at home, Southampton away, Burnley at home. No exaggeration to say he had at least 9/10 or 10/10 performances those games. Kante been brilliant but don't think he has been standout over some of our other players such as Hazard, Costa (although he has been poor recently) and even Luiz as a whole for the season. Doesn't have Messi's vision. Don't need stats to show that, just watch both play and tell me whether you think Hazard can execute half of the passes Messi does.Β Messi is very underrated as a creator tbh.Β I disagree. Hazard's vision is incredible and is definitely in the same conversation. You're arguing for vision, I'm arguing for creativity. You don't have to have Cesc-esque full range vision to be a creative force.Β Β On 03/04/2017 at 9:23 PM, The Skipper said: I only put Hazard ahead because Messi doesn't seem to be as explosive with his dribbling anymore, but tbh you could argue he's still better. Nevertheless, thoseΒ three are the top 3 dribblers on the planetΒ right now.Β It's not even close between them at this point. Both Messi and Hazard high volume dribblers.Β Hazard has completed 125 dribbles at a surreal 78 % (!!) success rate. From my research on Squawka, this is the most devastating dribbling season in the last 5 years in all the top European leagues. Hazard is dribbling better right now than Messi did in his prime. Messi has never even come close to matching such efficiency.Β This season he has 84 completed dribbles at 60 % success rate 2015/2016 - 117 completed dribbles at 63% success rate 2014/2015 - 174 completed dribbles (eh) at 56% success rate (again, high volume dribbling rate at an efficiency akin more resembling Zaha than Garrincha) 2013/2014 - 143 completed dribbles at 59% success rate 2012/2013 - 122 completed dribbles at 63% success rate Some stats can be misleading but dribbling stats are pretty much irrefutable. Messi has never even done it at 70% success rate before. And that's despite playing next to some of the best players ever, ballon d'or winners, players who demand the attention of opposition defenders. You'll think he'll have more space to operate. Meanwhile, Hazard is the centre of attention. InΒ 2014/15, Eden had - 180 completed dribbles at 64% success rate, a season were he was double marked in almost every game and getting tortured by defenders. I can post the others for the preceding seasons but you can look them up yourself. He still crushes Messi for effeciency.Β I don't even need any stat to know Hazard is a superior dribbler to Messi. The eye-test shows Messi fails quite a lot of his dribbles for everyone he gets right. He often loses the ball. Hazard rarely ever loses the ball when he attempts to beat players. He just simply blows past them. If we just forget the name at the back of the jersey and consider it's not LIONEL MESSI, this is not even a debatable point all things considered. Hazard is the best dribbler of his era and one of the most devastating dribblers the game hasΒ ever seen. Β Tomo

Blue Armour 4,725
^^^ HisΒ goal record against the top teams speaks for itself. Heck if you want to inflate it, you could even include the goal against Bayern in the European super cup, and the goals scored in the friendlies against Barca and Real. Β For me, today was almost a captain like performance. Leading by example through performance, rather. The way he kept pressing for the ball in the first half even after the equalizer showed how much he wanted to keep the tempo of the game going. His post-match interviews are also top notch, including how he spoke about the Courtois mistake. Has the most MOTM awards as well for our team, right? That there says a lot..
