We need another player in the wing at least a Damian Duff type. 

I like Shaqiri as he has that nice pace and explosiveness. 

Shaqiri and Hazard on the wing would be deadly. 

Sell Willian before he decrease in value and performance like Ivanovic and get Shaqiri.

Aside from that season (and even that season he started slowly, too slowly for a top top player.) he has never consistently performed on the highest level like he did tonight, He has yet to do this in the CL. And I still think he can perform even better than tonight if he would push himself harder. Then again I don't regularly lick his ass and wear red-tinted glasses.

I'd take Shaqiri. As for selling Willian, no way. He'll be fantastic for Conte.

Not so sure about that. He definitely has the talent but is too inconsistent. And not to mention, he didn't do too well at Bayern and got dumped by Inter after 6 months.

True, he is very streaky with his form. Fantastic at his best but that isn't often.

As far as his Bayern stay, I was under the impression that he was a bit like Salah or KDB was here where he didn't really play much to show his quality? I think if he is surrounded by great players and played regularly he'd show his true self. Maybe we'll find out if he leaves Stoke for a big team.

Maybe but that sounds a bit like an excuse though. If he's REALLY good, he should be able to shine in any side (or at least most sides) and Stoke are still a decent team after all. It should also be somewhat concerning that he got sold by Inter after half a season.

Shaqiri is a one trick pony who flopped spectaculary at Bayern Munich. He can't walk the talk, he's frustrating the shit out of his team mates, apart from his class goal, he wasn't that good at all, imo. I would clearly stay away, selling Willian and replacing him with Shaqiri would be an awful idea, imo. But neither of us can be 100% certain, so we'll see. Agree to disagree.

Maybe Eden is just putting himself back in the spotlight so he can seal a move to Real and his bro Zidane. I for one wouldn't shed a tear.

And yet, if you look at Eden's all touches videos from his Lille days, as I did when he was linked, there were many flat performances. In fact I posted (elsewhere) to say I wasn't over impressed but another poster, a huge Hazard fan, kept linking me new videos and said he was determined to find one I liked. Eventually he did and my reaction was, "Wow, if that's the player we're getting, I'm happy."

The truth is we got both of those players, because Eden is both of those players. He has 'meh' days, but he also has the days when he's up there with Suarez and Iniesta as the best of the humans. I made my peace with the 'meh' days long ago. In fact, those meh days are our friends. If not for them, Real would have bought him long ago. If not directly from Belgium, then definitely from Lille. There's no way an Eden Hazard who consistently performs as he did tonight would ever have joined Chelsea; European Champions, or no European Champions.

I would reply to this, but then you would have to read twice, just in a far less articulate fashion, OhForAGreavsie's post.

As I've said a few times, he has the potential to be world class on his day, just like tonight, and even better than tonight if he would push himself harder. It just doesn't happen consistently, he has had very good performances with us, but also those, and I'm not talking only about the past season, where I was left hugely disappointed. Not to mention he's yet to show up in the CL.

One thing I have noticed about Hazard, is even in his average games he still produces, take his stats from the Sweden game, I didn't think he had his best game by a long shot, yet I looked at his stats and ......

• 91% pass accuracy
• 66 touches
• 47 passes
• 5 chances created
• 3 dribbles
• 1 assist

To have three successful dribbles and create five chances in an "average" game is ridiculous, many times I got caught out in his early CFC career, thought he was average then looked at his personal stats and thought "umm maybe not then".

It's almost like the reversal of a headless chicken winger who spends a game skinning the full back then hitting the cross at the first defender, the skinning off the full back and the pace looks good in live time but in reality, he's having a shocker, with Eden it's looks like he ain't playing great but actually he is being rather quite productive.

Some Lillie fan came on the forum in his early days here and said that Eden's performances are divided into percentage, I can't remember the exact figures (willl be somewhere in this thread if you wanna trawl back to early 12/13) but roughly it was about 10% average or worse, 30% decent and productice (basically the games he looks average on the eye but has the stats like vs Sweden) , 40% very good and 20% like he's touched by god, which is of course what we witnessed vs Hungary.

Although I do agree in a sense that the way he plays keeps Real and co away, purely because he isn't ever going to be a massive scorer, he isn't the type to shoot when a pass is the better option, he won't do a Ronaldo, Neymar or Bale and shoot 30 times a game (sometimes from beyond ridiculous angles) to score once or twice.
