I'm angry that he didn't tell Porto's president that he wants to leave, and show a bit more ambition to join us. That's just the part of me what is spoilt though.

Hulk is a top bloke, and it's rare you get that loyalty these days, his neice died not so long ago and Porto gave him all the support and time off they could, he will never lose that gratitude for them. Very nice bloke and very talented player, it's a shame he wont join us and he never will as Porto wanted too much money and it's not worth it. But i have huge respect for Hulk, and good luck to him in the future.

Although he has signed with Zenit, it's better he didn't join any rival club at least, but he didn't make a scene for Porto so they had to accept less money.

Grossly overpriced and I fear for him that we won't be hearing much from him anymore now that he's gone to Russia (Same thing with Eto'o). He's 26 (?) so I doubt any big club will try to buy him again. Shame that he's practically stalled and damaged his career beyond repair. Firstly for agreeing a massive buyout clause with Porto was insane. They were always going to try to price him out of a move, especially from us. So he should have forced their hand by handing in a transfer request. This move however practically kills his career. He may even struggle to get into the Brazil team now. I'm even more disappointed in Witsel though.

This is heartbreaking in all honesty.

Not because we wont get him(I had pretty much accepted that), but because we are going to lose a dynamic footballer at the club level. We simply wont hear about him anymore. Eto'o is a much bigger name than him, and scores whenever he wants in Russia, and him boycotting the Cameroon national side is the first I have heard of him in a year.

I do believe Witsel is young enough to where he can still create a career in a bigger league in the future though.

Porto is biggest money making machine in the world of football. I doubt they spent 50mio in past ten years for their best players, and probably sold them for 250mio+

Porto and Benfica are the best at spotting future stars and selling big!

Porto: Falcao, Hulk, Moutinho (happening next year at most), Deco, Bosingwa, etc.

Benfica: Luiz, Ramires, Di Maria, Javi, Witsel, etc

Everyday I lose respect for a lot of players who disgusts me.

All these players leaving for club just for money, in uninteresting divisions.

Zlatan, Silva, Hulk, Witsel and many others are part of it.

Theis football makes me sick.

I don't see the attraction of going to Turkey or Russia. The money may be there but the leagues aren't the best. Also Russia is Freeeeezing in winter!

Anyway good luck to him. Porto must be fucking loaded.

Speculation over.

Porto are a business, I imagine profits shall be dished out to share holders.

To be fair PSG have a better squad than Milan. In fact I'd say Italian football is in decline, most of the clubs are struggling financially and corruption appears to be endemic (bye bye sponsorship).

when a player leaves to a league that's not very popular to promote it for money you're saying he's a cunt, but when he goes for money to a good league it's all good. double standards at it's best.

do you guys remember that guy from the team that won CL last year who went to China? what was his name?

Drogba is 34 and has been there, done it and won it all. Hulk is 26 and proved very little. Big difference
