Salomon Kalou

Fernando Torres and Juan Mata lol at the bolded statement. Had Mata been born just a little quicker, had it been Sturridge that Kalou picked out time after time during the last few weeks of the season, we could have perhaps finished 4th.

And his pass to Torres in the QPR game was quite extraordinary.

It's the job of the passer to measure the weight of the pass, not for the runner to be born quicker. Real good passers know their teammates' strengths and weaknesses and thus can make calculated passes. If you had Terry making a run at full speed and somebody giving a slightly heavy pass to him, you don't condemn him for being slow, you condemn the passer. And you certainly don't praise somebody for "almost pulling it off". Your love for Kalou has clouded your judgement, he was never a good passer, he had his moments like the Torres one, but like with everything else - not consistent enough, leaning towards being consistently bad at that. In fact at the beginning of the season in a few games I remember counting Kalou's misplaced passes and failed dribbles, and there were awfully a lot... even the easiest ones.

Another short lived break from my holiday from postinng:

It's on now.

DANNY MURPHY is set to sign a new deal at Fulham.

The 35-year-old was on the Premier League’s ‘free transfer’ list last week, but sources at the club insist a new contract is close to agreement.

Make it happen.

It's from TalkSport, then reported in Daily Mail but wonder what cap makes of this...

http://www.dailymail...omon-Kalou.html

Newcastle are weighing up a move for former Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou.

Boss Alan Pardew is looking to bolster his impressive attack, which already includes the likes of Papiss Cisse, Demba Ba and Hatem Ben Arfa.

The Ivory Coast international is a free agent after leaving the Blues following their Champions League Final triumph.

German side Schalke remain favourites to sign Kalou despite interest from Arsenal and his former side Feyenoord. But the Magpies

have now entered the race, according to talkSPORT.

The 26-year-old made more than 250 appearances, including a start in Chelsea's Champions League final victory against Bayern Munich, and scored 60 goals for the Blues.

Kalou has had 7 managers in his time at Chelsea, 6 saw him as a vital member of the squad and the one that didn't is widely regarded by lots as Chelsea's worst manager in a long time.

But ofcourse we know better. Not saying he is world class, he is not but if he is as bad as most people claim he is, then Jose, Hiddink and Carlo should be getting just as much stick for signing him (Jose), playing him often (Hiddink) and keeping him (Carlo).

He's an average player. Filled a squad position for a few seasons. Now that we've brought in Hazard, Marin & possibly Hulk...there was no reason to keep Kalou.

Best of luck to Kalou wherever he ends up.

But does it make sense keeping Malouda but letting go Kalou, if one was going to stay out of the 2 it should have been Kalou.

i think they are letting go of both

salomon kalou has worked his ass off everytime he has been in a blue shirt. its true he makes stupid errors sometimes like valencia away but i dont fault him for the hardwork he puts in. he has chipped in with 60 goals as well but he was always a back up and nothing more than that. he isn't great with the ball and breaks up promising counters with bad passes or his hopeless shooting

but at the end of it all, i wish him the best wherever he ends up. always puts in 110%

His contract expired, if Malouda isn't sold he won't be given another contract next year. Sure the club won't rid but he intends to see it out.
