Strange how the british press haven't tapped into the fact that if she hadn't been such a tart and "needed" hospital treatment, that Indian nurse wouldn't have had the prank call and topped herself. Not a word from the house of Windsor since. Silence is indeed golden.

Totally agree CM. That nurse would have had problems and to blame it on the aussies was ridiculous. She would have doubtless got loads of grief off her arse licking bosses and the hospital authorities, and would still be alive now if we'd chopped off the 'royals' heads like the French did. This is one of the old chestnuts dragged up time and time again. There isnt a shred of evidence that tourism money would suffer if the 'royals' were disbanded, told to stop being layabouts, and get jobs. In fact all the evidence points to the opposite

In so far as the monarchy provides any tourism value it is in the shape of palaces and castles. Buckingham Palace is closed to the public except for 3 or 4 days a year, and then only a few of the 800 odd rooms are open. If the palace were open all year round, and if the entire palace and gardens were open to the public, tourist visits would increase considerably similar to the Palace of Versailles outside Paris

The Tower of London used to be closed as it was 'royal' and is now open, is self funding and attracts millions of tourists every year.

The reality is the royal family and all the dozens of hangers on that are paid by the 'civil list' as benefit scroungers are a drain on the rest, and are nothing more than an inbred cabal of parasites feeding off our taxes.
