Absolutely spot on. This was a poor day at the office, but this was a pointless game. in Every game that has mattered RDM has shown he can do well.

The only criticism of him i have is that he shouldn't be playing the same team every game - everyone knows we will play the same back 5, Mikel + Lampard, then Ramires on the right - sometimes it's good to mix it up - which tbf he did against Newastle, more of that please.

Exactly. Mikel + Lampard is too slow to play with team that are gonna play to the counter.

Playing them together is way too slow, I would like to see Mikel/Romeu alongside Ramires and give either Moses or Sturridge a chance on the right wing. Lampard is a legend but i think his time is up, maybe he can act as an impact sub like Giggs is at United.

Yeah. I think Mikel - Meireles could work. We have a large squad we can take adventage of it.

We have a lot to play with. Against lesser teams i can see Oscar in that pivotal role that Lampard plays. My issue with Merieles is that he is very inconsistent, some times he's great, some times i don't understand how he ever became a professional footballer. Romeu should get more game time.

You would hope so, I've got a feeling his lack of games is down either to a fear of Barca wanting to buy him back if he performs well or the legacy of his injury is greater than previously suggested and he is still recovering like Essien.

Going to be brutally honest here, didn't like how he waited to the 86th minute or whatever to sub Sturridge on. Also dislike the fact Meireles was dropped after an amazing performance against Newcastle. Why didn't he not play Azpilicueta if he knew Adrian and Cristian Rodriguez had pace in abundance??? Poor tactical analysis on Athletico by him and his backroom staff for this one. Didn't look like he wanted to change the game at all, Moses provides another option due to his strength and pace and against a team that was sitting deep and playing physically he would of been useful.

Call me harsh if you want or try or say "oh its not like you could od any better bla bla bla" bullshit I was shocked some of his choices tonight.

Still first 3 games of the season have been good though.

Yeah, we can defeat lesser sides on individual skill but against strong sides we get outplayed so badly. Of course this is only two games but its so bad that alarm clocks should be ringing for everyone.

I don't think Di Matteo is the right man for the job, I never did.

We were only really exposed against city when down to ten men, before that we defended well. Tonight was poor however, no excuses.
