manpe 10,861
No defeats in 2012..Superb.If we finished the season with only draws, we would be undefeated the whole season... but would it be good enough?
We Hate Scouse 10,326
If we finished the season with only draws, we would be undefeated the whole season... but would it be good enough? It depends if we got to the Champions League final with the draws.......Drew that and then won on penalties. Then yes, that would be suffice.

BlueLion. 21,491
I thought the mark for the 5th yellow card equals a suspension was the end of February?Edit - no, you're right, the amnesty used to be the end of February but as of last season it is Dec 31st. No Bosingwa
diskoviolente 425
Mata has to play in the hole behind the attacker(s). He has the best vision on the pitch of our players, he is wasted on the wing.

Ollie 4,400
It's February, hopefully soon Arsenal will do their usual thing of losing 60% of all their games (have you seen their next 8 games lol) and we do what we did last season and go on a great run from the end of feb to may. Owizzy 19
The New Chelsea approach 2012:Firstly hi to everyone:Now enough is enough!, people should stop talking about AVB (or no AVB). AVB is not the problem we are facing right now. Our problem is a depleted, aging squad. Bring in Ferguson/Wenger/Dalglish/Guardiola/(even the special one himself); this current squad is beyond redemption as they have done their time and should honestly be thinking of bowing out for a newer generation of players. When players get older (in terms of years of service), they get weaker and become more foul-prone. Now is time to sell-off at least 65% of our squad and start building with the young ones (and hopefully new ones) we have. What baffles me is when we buy some young player with suppossed talent and we stick him on the bench, why then did we buy him in the first place is it to guarantee him free seat for all chelsea games or just to complete the 22 men in the training field?Lets all rally together and support the present manager AVB and help him to do the best job which we all desire. Now my recomendation: Enough of all these theoretical formation talk of 4-4-2, 4-5-1, bla-bla. let us resort to the old days of playing soccer with dedicated full backs (psitions 2 & 3)/ position 4, 5, 6 as defensive players with one of them been allowed to make occassional forays in the attack. Then we should re-introduce the traditional attacking wingers (positions 7(right) & 11 (left). The last three (positions 8, 9 & 10) will be the attacking Machinery. This works any day provided all players are fit and determined to do their jobs well (this was used effectively by the Super eagles of Nigeria in USA '94 and they had a good showing as debutants up until the Italians destroyed the highly effective left winger then also the guy called "da-bull was destroyed, before others could understand the very effective attack then). So going forward here are a few recommendations,Mata remains #10 playmaker.Sturridge since we want him to be a winger let him move to the left wing since he is somewhat silky he can be giving good supply of crosses to the opponents 18 yard box, he doesnt have to play on the right or else he will never pass he will wanna drive-in and slam with his left (naturally as a young lad he wants to score). Ramires should be polished and taken to the Right wing attacking position.Romeu/mireiles develop them further and stick them in the midfield. This are just some few suggestion. As per #9, thats meant to be Torres's birthright but he his currently suffering from frozen legs syndrome. Thanks will continue in the next post... CHOULO19 24,332
Lampards return may prove vital imo, we've been lacking a match winner in recent games.
Rasu Mirza 1
1-3 CHELSEA win.AVB plz use 4-2-3-1 formation with MATA behind of TORRES.It will work for us.
YouNameIt 1,511
Stick Mata out on the wing again? Can we just abandon the 4 3 3?If I was AVB id go with:--------------Cech---------------Iva - Cahill - Luiz - Bertrand-------------Romeu----------------Essien------------Lampard------------Mata-----------------Lukaku------Torres
OneMoSalah 8,886
Think we will have to be very cautious, Everton do have a few decent enough players like Donovan, Cahill, Fellani and Jelavic(got the only goal we conceded in pre-season). AVB has to make sure he gets his tactics right though and I hope he sticks with David Luiz and Gary Cahill looked very good against Man United just unlucky with the last goal. I reckon this is the team that will start tbh, dont think Lampard will start because he probably isn't 100%.CechIva - David Luiz - Cahill - Cole/BosingwaMeireles - Romeu - Essien Sturridge - Torres - Mata
