The 'Mourinho sold Player X because he doesn't track back or do enough defensively' reason has become one of the silliest, most boring and overused cliches ever. Such a lazy excuse to explain why certain players didn't have much joy under Mourinho.

It is a fact and evidence is quite clear.

I agree. Sometimes it might be true but its wayyyy over-used around here.

He got rid of KdB because we all know KdB is not a winger. His best position is the "Oscar role". Mourinho would have either been playing him out of position, or have lost face from playing KdB over Oscar. Oscar is his number ten, that was established with the Mata debacle. Oscar is his long-term choice to be a midfield stalwart. So that more or less made Kevin an expendable figure. Hence why he left. Its that simple

Mourinho didn't want to sell Mata as far as I remember but he did because Mata wanted to play more for the World Cup. To be fair De Bruyne was shit for us after that Hull game and was demoted to the u21s instead of heading to Bucharest for a reason.

Kagawa also killed Munich..

A healthy munich side, not a banged up one.

IMO the current Munich side are a bit better than the one Kagawa raped but the point stands. KDB and Kagawa both were agile and clever enough to expose Bayern's greatest weaknesses. They have always wanted to control the opponent with their passing and high block. They are like machines with precise commands. Intelligent players who move the ball quickly and spot the spaces they leave behind can easily exploit them and counter attack them to death. Hazard did that in the super cup, KDB did it last week and Kagawa did it in 2012. Especially players like Boateng who are good but not overly intelligent can't react when they get found out.
