Paul Pogba

Obviously Pogba is a fantastic player or at the very least least will be. From the limited amount I've seen he is quite lazy and pulls the wool over people's eyes with spectacular goals and a nice dribble. I haven't seen much, so I could be very wrong. If I am right, than he isn't the type of player I'd pick to balance out the team. I'd like a player that can run for days, has amazing technique and exerts dominance in the midfield. Jordan Henderson (even James Milner) would be a great pick but that is a dead end; literally zero percent chance of that though.

I think a three man midfield is the best idea. The club has Cesc Fabregas whom is all technique and guile but has no physical dominance on the field. Nemanja Matic; the opposite of Fabregas (he does have a nice touch and pass but the vision isn't there). There needs to be a player that is half and half to give the midfield a perfect balance. Xabi Alonso could have been that player but he is long gone at Bayern and is close to his mid 30s. I don't know anyone out there that absolutely fills that criteria.

sounds like Schneiderlin would have fit the bill. IDK who would be an alternative right now. It does seem to me that Pogba is better suited to be the more advanced of a three-man centre midfield, but I've also not watched him play enough during his Juve days.

Wake up guys, he is not coming

I'll put my neck on the line - the only hope anyone could point to us getting him is if strong rumours from reputable people keep happening.

The facts:

We know chelsea have bid for him. Most reputable reports have it at £54m which is very low (and suggests to me a first bid to open proceedings)

We know Juventus are after Witsel.

I have know idea why they are waiting so late.

I think it's reasonable for people to say that we'll at least try for a bid that is actually in the range they value him at, right?

But my honest opinion is that if it all goes quiet for days in a row then there's no even a possibility.

Uh yes? We had the best midfield in the League last season, 2 poor games hardly erases that.

Pogba is hardly Verratti, he's a highlight reel player right now rather than a 90 minute footballer as of today.

I didn't see a season in which the Chelsea centre MF was clearly dominant. I saw a season in which other top clubs fell short and a bunch of matches wherein Chelsea defended well. Chelsea dominating the centre of the park last season? That wasn't notable, but I do remember Chelsea getting dominated more than a few times in the centre last season.

Something you might have missed is that Di Marzio is not a fictional character or an internet freak.

He's one of the main journalist in Sky Sport Italia regarded as the most reliable source for transfer news.

He personally knows football players and their agents. But I'm sure Raiola is a close friend of this Jorge Ramos fella.

Sky italia isnt reliable at all.

The english media will just stretch this out for as long as possible to get clicks and sell papers. "chelsea prepare huge pogba deal" "Pogba deal could go down to the wire" these are clear signs that the media want to hype something that is there.

As a whole they don't seem to be but di mazio very much is. Its like the sun isn't reliable but Rob beasley is. Its better to look at the journalist as individuals rather than the company

Fabrizio Romano @FabrizioRomano 1 Std.Vor 1 Stunde

One more time: Pogba will not leave Juventus. No Chelsea. #CFCcfc.png

He is working for Di Marzio...well it was relatively clear that it would be too much of a dream of getting Stones and pogba in 1 week. Should have went for Pogba BEFORE they sold Vidal.

It is funny. People on this forum actually believed Juve were going to sell their prized asset with a week left in the transfer window

People said the same thing in 2011 about Liverpool selling Torres.
