Disappointed that he's going to Barca. Would've been worth the £55m quoted. Glad we didn't mess up the wage structure though if he is getting upwards of £200k.

That is what everyone say when they lose out on a top player or can't afford him. If we had this mentality before we definitely wouldn't have got Hazard. Sometime a player is special he is worth it, if you try to go by rigid 'structure' all the time you will end up like Arsenal with a socialist like wages and bad players earn nearly as much as the good ones.

Partly true but I don't think Hazard was made our best paid player when he first signed which is what Pogba inevitably would be. Hazard would then get a wage rise if Pogba came, then Costa, Fabregas...

Actually no one will get a wages rise because they are all men and not babies. Fabregas and Costa especially already on £150k per week each and just signed last summer, Hazard recently signed a new £200k a week contract up from £170k before where he became one of our highest earner when he signed. Doubt any of them care even if Pogba will earn £300k a week here.

Pogba would be but only because every big club in Europe want him...City, PSG, Madrid, Barca. Simple supply and demand really. I am not saying it is worth it but I would prefer we at least come out and admit we can't afford him instead of playing the self-comforting game of talking about 'policies' and all that. That is what bitter smaller clubs usually do when they can't get a top player.

Didn't realise he was on £170k when he came. Say we signed Pogba on £300k a week, Hazard is our player of the year again this coming season. You honestly think that he wouldn't expect to have a wage similar to Pogba? I respectfully disagree.

Well if he goes to Barca we should try and buy Rakitic, simple as that. Just a pointless buy from Barca really. Rakitic-Busquets-Iniesta is a world class midfield and has the right balance more than anything.

Iniesta is still one of the best midfield players in the world, behave would you? Dropping Iniesta for Pogba is like getting rid of a Ferrari for a Fiat. Pogba is a good player but the difference between him and Iniesta is night and day. Dropping Rakitic for Pogba too would be insane considering how adept Rakitic is defensively as well as offensively, he gives that team so much balance.

Never compared the two in position, what are you on about? My idea is that that money can be spunk on Bale and would be a better addition as we need a RM more than a CM? Do you even try to think outside a box or just quote anything you don't like?

Iniesta was not terrible last season, he plays a bit deeper and hes still able to go forward, hes still world class, Barca's best MF player and easily better than Pogba.

Iniesta can still play in that team for a few more years yet though. I don't think hes past it and hes starting to play a bit more like Xavi, doesn't make as many dribbles as he once did and touches the ball a lot more.

If Pogba goes there he might replace Rakitic more than anybody but his defensive side would need to improve so much because you see what Rakitic has given Barca this year in terms of tackles and interceptions as well as interchanging with Busquets, holding his position at times as he used to also play as a 6 at Basel and in Germany.

Still think the only team where he should go is probably PSG or here if we do go to a 3 man midfield but I don't think going to Real, Barca, City or United makes any sense now.
