Gary Cahill

To be honest the hamstring is the more important one. That needs the most rest, playing an intense tournament with games every few days would not have helped his hamstring if its not 100%.

The jaw will heal naturally and they have a few weeks before pre season now.

Dries Mertens has apologized to Cahill on Twitter.

  Quote
Dries Mertens@dries_mertens14

I sincerely apologize for the harm I've cost to Cahill. When in the heat of the moment, you often don't think about the consequences...

...My thoughts go out to him and I hope he recovers well!

Do anyone else not see the issue with Hart in the injury?

If Hart hadn't hesitated and come out to collect the ball like the goalkeeper should Gary wouldn't have got injured!

Hart's a worry in my eyes for England!

Maybe but there was still no reason for Mertens to do what he did. Needless and reckless!

He is already 26, that means his first big competition will come at age 28, why did he got injured...

That Mertens had no need to push him, he knew he wont get the ball...

quick recover

It's a good thing for us. He'll get to rest that hamstring.

Apparently, the club has prevented Cahill from playing in the Olympics as they want him to join with the rest of the squad for pre-season in US. On the other hand, Sturridge has been given permission to participate in the Olympics.

Makes no sense. Should've been the other way around if you ask me.

Don't see the problem with that TBH. Luiz is heading to the Olympics while Terry has his court case coming up soon. If Cahill goes as well, then we'll be left with just Ivanovic & Terry, depending on duration court case, in pre-season and to prepare for the early season big games.
