7m for a solid defender is over priced?, I think that's a bargain myself and he's 25 or 26, would be a great back up, I'd be expecting a much larger price though unfortunately.

Well, I've already explain why it was overpriced... No matter :

• He has 6 months left on his contract.

• Bolton are at the bottom of the table, they aren't in a strong position to negociate.

• We gave them Sturridge and likely Josh.

We gave them Sturridge?, no club will show gratitude, especially in relegation zone, they arent going to bend over backwards because of that, maybe for McEachran deal what could be yet to come. They are at the bottom and desperate so in that case they will charge a lot more than 7 million, so I think it's a bargain for 7m. Don't forget waiting for his contract to go out is stupid, we are in desperate need in a defender, preferably one who has had experience of working with our defenders (John Terry for England) and they worked well together, a fast paced one for highline, and premier league experience. 7 million for Cahill giving there position and ours, fuck yes!.

That's exactly my point. He plays at Bolton, so people think he's shit.

I on the other hand think those stats make him look better...If he can pull that off in a Bolton side..I can only imagine what he is gonna do when paired with JT or Luiz....`This is a bargain, we dont have the time or the luxury right now to let his contract run out and even going by our history i would opt for us to sign him when we can....

Absolutely, this applies specifically to defenders and goalkeepers... you operate as a unit, and thus you truly are only as good as the players around you. He could be a great squad player for us.

I honestly believe we will sign him, and it's not a bad signing come to that... he's English for one thing, but also, he's highly talented in his position, and he's played alongside Terry for England, so for us to sign a player who could have cost double what were paying for him this time two years ago is a real steal for me, I just hope he lives up to the expectations and be a good replacement for Alex!

I love the potential signing of Cahill. He has immense talent on both sides of the ball and would mold well with Terry and be able to keep the rest of the back 4 well rested. My question is whats the plan for Luiz then. Is he eventually going to be in a John Obi-Mikel kinda role if he can ever control his aggression?

I think Cahill will be a Decent signing, especially for the $7 Million price tag. Hopefully he can arrive here and Blossom around better players. I Don't want him replacing Luiz though, as I believe Luiz can become a Great CB, he just needs more time. Cahill should be more of a squad player and play in cup matches. All in all Cahill will be good, but I would have loved some other CB's, like Hummels/Subotic/Adel Rami etc
