StrategiC 73
Probably the only player at chelsea who has hit a proper peak at the moment. Others are too young or too old or too shit. Mohammed Seif
Henrique 9,133
Avarage CB. His weakness were exposed today. Best way to describe his gameGary Cahill 5Chelsea's entire back four have rarely looked more vulnerable and Cahill wobbled frequently under particular pressure from Lavezzi who had his beating for pace. Also survived a penalty appeal following a challenge on Cavani GhanaBoy and Reddish-Blue

Stats 7,147
What a bargain Cahill has turned out to be. After Hazard obviously I would have him and Azpi as our players of the season. Another fantastic game for Cahill. Was superb and my MOTM. Did not put a foot all wrong and made some crucial interceptions and tackles. He is beginning to turn from a rotational player to an important first team player. Been excellent this season. Tomo 21,751
Where's the player that use to drive me insane with his passive tendancies gone? His decision making under pressure last night had my jaw dropping, i have said this before but out off all the improvements Mou would make i really did not see this one coming atall, brilliant. Popular Post! Barbara 15,149 Posted April 9, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted April 9, 2014 He and Terry - although Terry more than him - showed some shakiness the last couple of matches, but today he was perfect. Flawless, this guy really surprised me. I thought he was just some another talentless - but committed - football player - English or not - that would never be more than average and deserving of being at Chelsea's bench at the most. How wrong I was and I'm humbled to be corrected by him and delighted to watch him grow so much and gives us just his everything. With guys like him, Terry, Iva and Azpili as our back for, I have nothing to ask. It's not even about being technical - although they mostly are - but how those four, along with Cech give their best, match in, match out. They make mistakes - just like anyone else (same thing with Luiz, but he makes them more often this season and normally his mistakes jump to the eyes), but they're reliable and true Chelsea players. tizerist, Mohammed Seif, Stats and 2 others
Beigl 1,387
Awesome player.Always liked his personality on and off the pitch, but I wasn't impressed of his performances in 2012-2013.Very shaky then. Now I am happy again with him,as he is approaching world class level.Yesterday he again played with his whole heart.Future club Legend. duo11bluecl 207
Future Chelsea captain.Or Dave or eventually Matic. I can only see either of those 3. If Hazard was a bit more mature I would consider him too but he consistently do nothing great to remove speculations about him so he won't ever become captain here. BlueLyon 9,359
Most improved defender of the season, doesnt get enough credit, he is amazing. Its bit subjective, but top 3 CBs this year IMO (likes of Ramos, Pique, Hummels can hide). Silva, Benatia and Cahill are my faw CBs this season, Godin/Miranda, Pepe and Terry should get mention too. JDY 1,290
Has been fantastic. I was one of his biggest critics early in the season and last season but since December he has been world class. Up there with the best on form. Reddish-Blue, Ainsley Harriott and The Skipper
LDN Blue 7,903
I wouldn't really go as far as world class. I mean he's good, really really good. But he's not someone that should be deemed irreplaceable this summer. Cahill's strongest asset is those last-minute challenges and interceptions, but they're actually basic things you're looking for in a defender anyway. He's reliable. He'll be in the right position with set plays and all but he's not as comfortable on the ball as you'd be looking for in a modern CB. He's prone to losing the ball when he goes walkies and he's lucky he's able to make last ditch tackles when he does lose out. I too wouldn't go far as saying he's world class, but I think as far as CB's go he's pretty decent on the ball. Sure he can't pull a long pass like JT or Luiz but I've rarely seen him pressured into losing it.
Joker10 946
As a ball playing CB he is pretty darn good. Seems like even our fans stereotype him as a stereotypical English kick and rush CB.

Not some players who can do all kind of fancy stuff. Ramos, Pique arent even proper defenders yet they are marked as world class. Cahill is kind of no-nonsense CB who gets his job done. Its no coincidence we have one of best defenses in the world, who stopped Suarez, Ibra, Cavani,...from scoring. Yeah, we made silly mistake here and there (name a CB who never makes mistake), but looking on the season in full, we were realy good and consistent in defense. Thats why Cahill and Terry should be marked as world class CBs.
