CHOULO19 24,332
Tbf it was a good pen, just an amazing save. It felt like McGregor did not want Frank to scored. Pulled a few amazing saves from Lampard shots. Blue Armour
Phil Driver 503
I read plenty of Chelsea fans predicted teams before the games on forums and it amazed me how many were lacking the name Lampard he was always going to play as first choice under Jose for all the big games and the first game of any season is a big game , a lot of nonsense has been written about Lampard being finished ,but like Mourinho I look at the performance of the player and not the birth certificate,he will still be at the club next season so sit back and enjoy real class. BlueLyon 9,359
There will never be such player in Chelsea for a long time. Lampard is Chelsea. English legend, best club scorer and top personality. We might have Mata, Hazard, Oscar, but even if they win balon dor, I couldnt ever rate them above Lamps. Frank is everything that Chelsea represents, his thinking, his play show that he is one of last top english players playing for our club. Raul is true Real legend, Ronaldo who is better player than Raul ever was replaced him, but RM fans dont even think of consider him bigger legend than Raul. Lampard is our Raul. Legend through and through. It was privilege to watch Frank for all these years and the day when he retires should never come. Time is ruthless, but memory cant be deleted and Lamps will be forever in our hearts, no time will erase that.(special thanks for computer and Tv existance, so that I can watch Franks's best moments again and again) Blue Traveler and Manuf
Manuf 1,448
I don't think there is anything to stop him from playing to his fourties like Giggs or Scholes. He has a great work ethic and huge desire to play.
Phil Driver 503
Mourinho revealed he had shared a joke with Bruce on the touchline about Lampard's quality. He said: "(Bruce) was saying he wants Frank Lampard at the Bridge - and there is a fantastic bridge in Hull!"Read more: http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/Bruce-praises-Hull-City-second-half-spirit-defeat/story-19674871-detail/story.html#ixzz2cMLARsaK

Vybz Kartel 1,613
Still think our first 11 would be better without him starting especially games like the Man Utd one were we will need to keep hold of the ball more Peace.
meetdoscar 335
Its good to see how good he still is when he has defensively sound players all around him allowing him to make forward runs.

The_Flash 1,144
A true legend, gentleman and brilliant player. I am so happy he is still here was very upset at the treatment he seemed to be recieving before he got the new deal. It wouldnt have been the same without him. Blue Armour 4,278
The next time Lampard plays in midfield, it better be further forward of a midfield pairing like Ramires--MVG or Essien-Ramires. When he plays in the pivot himself, he just ends up pegging his pivot partner back, like he did with Ramires today. Ramires got more freedom only when Oscar, and later MVG, moved into central midfield.
Vybz Kartel 1,613
Sometimes I think was it wise to give him an extension? I know I sound harsh but the sooner we move on from him the better our overall team becomes as it seems our current midfield is trying to cover Lampard's deficiencies as seen by Mata playing deeper today with no success. Even Ramires is now restricted to do those classic counter attack bursts of his cause we would be left without defensive cover. Also I have noticed whenever we are under pressure and in desperate need of keeping the ball Frank seems to lose it a lot. I know his a legend and we cant replace his goal scoring prowess but for the greater good of the team he should not be starting. nadavTKL

He still has much to give. Some of the things you say might be true, but I believe what has to be done is to think about who we are pairing him with in the pivot when we play 4-2-3-1. For instance, I think he would work alot better with Essien, simply because he could move further up the pitch alot more then. But mainly, he's best suited for the 4-3-3, and should mostly be played as a sub tbh. Except for some games against bigger teams. yuvala and Vybz Kartel
