If this is true then I wonder why City are doing this - signing a past-it player for mega wages. No way they could have known he'd be so good for them before they signed him, so why offer such numbers? Just to stick it in our faces? FFP is a joke.

I so wish we had a case with the FFP against City, I'm sure us, Arsenal and Utd would team up to report City and hope they either drop points or a big fine for their way to cheat the system. If we did it I bet we would get a fine.

Think he asked 5 or 6 members to 'meet him'. Just had a look on that Shed End and hes doing his usual belittling of members on there, accusing people of being childish, ignorant, (exactly what he is himself), because they have the temerity to have a different opinion to his - ie you must love lampard.

Funnily enough I remember him posting here that Lampard was basically past it and crap, before the inevitable contradicting of himself a few posts later.

Seems to be showing his true colours, like Lampard.

Personally for me, I couldn't bear it if he won anything with them. My heart sinks every time I see that he's scored for them.

If they win nothing this season, I think I'll look back on this and not be that bothered about it.

However, if he wins the league with them, I don't know how I will feel. It'll be awful knowing it was at our expense and he'll have played his part in denying us the title.

Don't think City have much of a chance in the Champions League so I'm not thinking about that. FA Cup? I'd still hate seeing it, but I'd probably get over it, as long as he didn't score the winner.

You raise an excellent point. I think if he won something of note with them - i.e. the PL, CL - it would send us fans overboard. If anything this has made me even more desperate to win a major honour this season. If we win silverware this season, even if it's "only" the League Cup, and they end up trophyless, I'd find it satisfying.

As Mana said, its just the sly way he went about everything that did it for the most of us.

I don't really care that he scored against us or won them vital points or what he'll do for the rest of the season, I care about the integrity of the man. I thought he had it in abundance, but he's contradicted himself by joining City after he (conveniently) said he couldn't play for another PL team after we extended his stay the year previous. He tiptoed around the whole loan arrangement/playing against Chelsea/staying beyond January like a fucking burglar in a house. Therefore, I see him as a bit of a chameleon: as long as he gets the spotlight and a fat pay packet he'll say exactly what the paymasters want to hear.

I cant blame them. They dont have proper english legends or whatever, so they are trying to buy other's legends.

But I blame Lamps for being such a low life to sell himself for money. And years ago, it would hurt more, but it would be more understandable. Now, at this age, he literaly gives no shit for Chelsea or fans by doing that. He could still get big paycheck in usa, but he went to city with purpose to win title. He is even trying harder than he did last season with us...

Its also sending bad picture to the club, because now we cant even say that Lamps was a proper legend for us like Gerrard is for Pool or Scholes for united etc.

This is the part that really gets me..

He had something bigger than money/career, the only thing that separates Lampard from Van Persie and co is the fact he's more intelligent, thus figures out a way to 'save face'. I know I'm biased, but fucking hell, the 'discussion' there is more boring than the crappy design (absolutely no idea how anyone can bare to look at that for more than 10 minutes).
