@mattspiro: Canal Plus tonight suggesting discussions between Chelsea and Lyon for Bafetimbi Gomis are at an advanced stage. Surprising to say the least

Hope its not true lukaku is already better than he is!

Oh god please no!We dont need these kind of 2nd rate players.

realistically, our options in January

- Strikers - Wilfried Bony, Darren Bent, Fernando Llorente, Mauro Zarate, Demba Ba, Klaas Jan Huntelaar, Theo Walcott, Robert Lewandowski,

- Mids - Joao Moutinho, Lewis Holtby, Mathieu Flamini, Moussa Sissoko, Fernandinho, Ettiene Capoue, Kevin-Prince Boateng

and for replacement for JT in the summer

- Defenders - Benedikt Howedes, Neven Subotic, Holger Badstuber, Serdar Tasci, Simon Kjaer

Spikinho mentioned Xabi Alonso and David Villa - both having less than 2 years left on their contracts. might be possible

Seems like very realistical list, but please no Flamini, Tasci, Badstuber or Zarate. Lewandowski is not option in january (Dortmund wont sell), but there are some more players I might add to list;

Defenders: Yanga-Mbiwa, Benatia, Garay, Douglas (Twente),

Mids: Fellaini, Bender

Strikers: Schurle, Ba, Gomis,

I really want more British and Irish talent here. But...then you look at the talent pools.

Scotland

James Forrest

Steven Fletcher

John Fleck

England

Theo Walcott

Adam Lallana

Henri Lansbury

Wales

Joe Ledley

Neal Eardley

Neil Taylor

Northern Ireland

Chris Brunt

Steven Davis

Johnny Evans (eww)

Republic of Ireland

Shane Long

James McCarthy

Séamus Coleman

They don't exactly create a sense of optimism.

Tbh I don't think we need another cm... Ramires is beasting (Toure-esque) and we also have de Bruyne coming soon, not to mention potentially Josh for the future

I disagree, we need two intelligent defensive midfielders good on the ball to recycle the possession and compensate the position of a cb or fullback leaving his position moving forward.

Add a forward who is better all-around.

We need to dictate the tempo of the game, mixing the tempo for change of rythm to mess up the opposition.

And without two good defensive midfielders, it's impossible to do.
