I would like to see us sell Oscar and buy Angel Di Maria as our #10. Thoughts?

I don't know why this is in a Lewis Baker thread but regardless. Di Maria is winger and strangely enough a CM (he has made most of his appearances this season in the three man midfield and he plays as a CM for Argentina) not a #10.

Honestly I will no longer make note of your suggestions, just kidding but seriously. Did you watch the Real Madrid game? Di Maria probably put of the worst performance of his life couldn't get out a pass to save his life. He is blows hot and cold. Di Maria is easily in my top 5 overrated players in the world list. Poor decision making and can very often vanish for much of a game.

Anyone who suggest Di Maria is a good buy, I will seriously doubt you watch football consistently.

Wrong thread but Di Maria would be a good buy, not as a #10 though.

He was bad against Bayern but that was an anomaly, he's been fantastic in most other games this season. He isn't overrated at all.

Let me tell one thing. When I was living at home my family was a Benfica family so I watched a lot of Benfica and we also watched a lot of Madrid. I'm sure I've seen more of Di Maria than 99% of Chelsea fans and he's shit, not worth it. Every game where he had a fantastic minute he had 10 shitty minutes. He's graceful and nice to watch but there is absolutely no reason to sign Di Maria.

I've seen a lot of Di Maria myself, watched Real a lot myself over the last 3/4 years and it sounds like you have some sort of personal vendetta against him, how anyone could call Di Maria a shit player is astonishing - he's been inconsistent in his career in general yes, but he's been less so this year and has been one of Madrid's best players this season whether you like it or not.

- He overrates himself and always goes for the most difficult choices

- Disappointing stamina

- Foul and yellow card magnet

- Worst of all is that he becomes extremely predictable as the mach goes on, he isn't this mercurial guy people imagine.

He's not shit in the sense that he doesn't have talent because he does. The signing would be shit because we wouldn't improve. He's just going to be more trouble than he's worth. He's going to want a raise and he won't change anything for us but waste money.

On another note to change the subject. What signings would be better ST/ST/LB or ST/LB/CM????

We wouldn't buy him for his shooting ability though. His creativity and crossing abilities are very, very good, he usually finds his man very well.

He isn't tactically inept either, if he was he wouldn't have ousted Isco from the starting line up in the middle of the park as a CM. You say you don't like him in the middle but some of his best performances in a Real shirt have come from there this season.

So you don't rate him because he believes he's got quality? Right...

That's weird... I thought Di Maria was known for his energy. Di Maria doesn't stop running, his stamina is good.

In what sense is he extremely predictable? It seems like you're still looking at Di Maria from Benfica and failing to acknowledge that he has improved as a footballer over the years.

We would improve. Di Maria as a RW offers you width, pace, and he stretches other teams well and he has that final ball on him. We don't really have that on the right side of our pitch. I'm not even advocating that we should sign Di Maria or anything, but to say he'd be a waste of money and a bad signing isn't true in my opinion. We don't particularly need him but if we signed him he'd be a good signing.

I would like to see us get Angel Di Maria. Wonder what Madrid would sell him for? I'm really not a big fan of Ramires, Oscar and Willian. I would like to see us play Costa, Hazard, different #10, Schurrle up top. Then play Matic and a new CM as our #6 and #8.

I can not only see quite a few players being shipped out in the summer, but I also have a feeling that there may be a surprise exit this summer with Jose letting someone unexpected to leave, especially if it helps us bringing in a certain player.

I'm thinking possibly Oscar to help us get Cavani, or Ramires to help us try and get Pogba maybe??
