coolhead23 1,147
Yeah I don't see why not. Yes it takes time but of course you would exchange your players for a better one? Are you saying for the sake of chem if Ronaldo was for sale and wanted to come here we should not sign him because Hazard might want to leave?Would u go and sign a player for what 60-70m and let go off your best player who could match those heights? If that was the case, City should have won the league title almost 3 times now because they have the best team on paper! didierforever 7,349
Yeah if we could sign Isco/Ozil...etc then Oscar can be sold. The same way if we sign Bale/Ronaldo Hazard can leave. If there is a better player available than our current players, then why not buy them?there is something called the soul of the club. and you dont just go out and sell that. mata was out PLAYER OF THE YEAR last season. he was our go to man, our fix-it guy, our everything. you just dont sell some1 just on a whim. what are the chances that the player we get would be as good as some1 like JUAN MATA. just 2 months ago, the fact of starting a game without mata had a chill crawling over our spine. Mouri_Matic 560
Will there be?I mean, lets not act like we have not sent true talent away before. Robben was swept away in the night before even getting a chance to say goodbye. Malouda, a hero during our double just 2 years earlier, was sent to Rot in the reserves as a guy like Benayoun got first team action a season after saying he didnt give a damn about our club. This is simply business, and the players know that. And even Lampard had to convince so hard for a new deal, Drogba was sold because he was not gonna accept 1 year deal. While yes there are legends and sentimental around the board, the directors and Roman don't think so. This is business, not a family home where everyone stays forever. People need to accept that. Yeah soul... like when we let Drogba go, nearly let Lampard go before Jose had to convince him, nearly let Cole go before he accepts 1 year deal on £200k per week. Yeah that is soul for you. Wouldn't even be surprised if Terry is out next year and no contract renewal either.
coolhead23 1,147
No, but if you have a player you are not going to start regularly and another team is going to offer 35-40M for him you have to take it. It's up to Mourinho IMO and how he wants to use Mata. If he sees him as a fairly regular starter, then we should hold on to him. If he sees him as a squad player, then we should sell him. U need 25 players to make a team and to make a great team u need 25 solid players ... Just because Mata is reduced to squad player, should he be sold off and what happens when Oscar is injured or has a bad patch?

Actually they are the reason we even have this discussion about Mata leaving.

Just because Mata is reduced to squad player, should he be sold off and what happens when Oscar is injured or has a bad patch? No, you actually don't. You need about 14-15 regulars and maybe 3 or 4 other players who play fairly regularly. What happens if Oscar has a bad patch? Well, we have De Bruyne and Hazard who can play in the middle. Schurrle I am sure would be fine there as well. Mouri_Matic

Yeah that is soul for you. Wouldn't even be surprised if Terry is out next year and no contract renewal either.2 wrongs make a right??? NO. we dint let DD go. it was mutual. DD knew he would not get a better farewell. his last kick off the ball winning us the CL. plus he was 34, time to move on. we wanted to play a new style of football. wanted a young team for possession football plus wanted to give torres a true shot to prove himself (which he failed at, if he had played well, none of us would be crying about the DD move)cole got an extension easily. there was never any speculation of him going anywhere. it was just the normal media jazz that would want us to belive all the shit. contract negotiations take time and that was it.plus why are we even comparing the mata situation to this. these were contract extensions to 30 odd year old players. (35 in lamps case). in mata's case, we want to sell our BEST PLAYER OF LAST 2 SEASONS, without giving him a chance to prove himself. that sends out a wrong message to the rest of the player. I so do not buy anything of the recent Mata media coverage. It just does not add up somehow.I hope he stays anyways ... The loss of quality and potential instability in terms of team spirit would be too detrimental, I think. hjperdeath, coolhead23 and jonaaibosk
