A good signing for us. I think we can stop going on now in this thread about the wingers and creative mid we need as surely all of us know this and its starting to detract from the fact that we have all but secured one of the most sought after teenagers in the world! He might not be what is needed right now but he will be next year and im glad we have brought him in. Welcome Romelu

Welcome Lukaku!

Perfect signing. Many of you don't understand that football=business. You can not tell the other party to wait for another year or two and reserve the player for them. All you'll accomplish is losing out on the player and there aren't many young and as promising CFs on the market. You need to "invest" and get the player you know you'll need surely in a years time if not sooner. He is young but he has the physical and technical aspect already to make an impact. We had a good offer from Anderlecht, the timing was perfect, we took it. Perfect.

Not true, his technical skills are his weak points. That's the first thing he has to work very, very hard on.

'RSC Anderlecht and FC Chelsea reached today, Saturday, August 6, 2011, a final agreement on the transfer of striker Romelu Lukaku. Subject to the results of medical tests and handling the final details between the player and his new club will Romelu Lukaku the current 2011-2012 season from a player of Chelsea FC.'

I think this signing, while not immediately beneficial, is a good one. I agree that it is best to get him before his price goes through the roof. Romelu does need some polishing in his game though. I also think that he needs to get in the gym, as I've heard that he likes to avoid that aspect of his training and along those lines has said his physique is "a gift from God." Anyway, pleased, but not overjoyed.

A wonderful thing to hear, when they has been silence surounding potential targets. Yet another promising young player to add to the collection we are making, and is down-to-Earth and actually WANTS to play for Chelsea.

That makes our striker list too long.Shame since i think Sturridge will be leaving,he did so well and he is a amazing player. But having Drogba Torres Lukaku,Sturridge is way too much.

I hope he can play Sturridge as a winger.

I think it is very obvious we're going to use Sturridge out wide.

Anelka and Drogba are leaving next summer, i presume. Kalou is all but a winger, in the sense. Sturridge, Torres, Lukaku will be our three striker from next season onwards. The fact he is willing to wait for his oppertunity should warrant his appeal. Anelka's contract will be over, and i doubt Drogba will be here for much longer, tbh.

He doesn't think he is a chelsea player.

Thats not what he said entirely. He will do his best but hope he maybe one day can return, and he has great respect for

Chelsea. Look at the deal, Barcelona can anytime buy him back. The deal is build around a return thats what he answered to.

So you should be pissed of bye those who made the deal?.

This. Sturridge is filling the role Hulk played at Porto. Would really like Mata/De Bryne for our left wing next season; the amount of times I've lost my voice shouting at Malouda - I don't think my vocal cords can take it anymore.
