Romelu Lukaku

I know he asked for it. He could've said no and tell him he'll have enough games for Chelsea this season. Instead we buy an old guy and fail to sell an average player in Ba.

It's not like Romelu is criticizing José in the press? I can't help but feel he's a bit bitter, because he realised he's made a mistake in loaning out his best striker.

Ow well, the season is still long. Storm in a glass of water, I believe. Time will even out these hiccups.

That's quite a childish remark from José. Out of nowhere really.

Maybe he talks to much yes, but who should know more about when to speak and when to shut up? A 20 year old boy or a 50 year old manager?

I don't know why a manager would publicly chastise his players after an annoying question from a journalist.

How strange to put Lukaku in public on the spot like that.

If you think he should talk less to the media ... give him a call and tell him so.

If you are not happy with what he said in the media ... just say that in public, nothing else, and give him a call making that clear.

Hitting out to your own 20 year old player on loan, hard to understand.

Obviously he did something wrong and pissed off Mourinho

Obviousley you are clueless if you think a player lukaku is loaned out because "he did something wrong and pissed off Mourinho".

I suggest you, and everyone here who is paranoid (that means people who read a twitch status made by someone named Agent34324234 and trust it with their life) should just get real.

As usual, people are making this a way bigger deal than it really is.

According to Lukaku, the club hasn't been in contact for a couple of months.

Last season he made a point of saying that the club would talk to him about what they wanted him to work on. If Mourinho wants to give him a friendly reminder about something, why doesn't he talk to the lad?

This all seems remarkably poorly handled.

I'm at a loss about this whole thing, what exactly is the problem here? I can't see one. It's so naive to think that they only communicate via the media.

Knowing the way this club is ran I wouldn't be shocked. Lukaku already said the club doesn't talk to him

Is it a bad thing that Chelsea haven't contacted him? Its only been a couple months. He cost the club 18 million I can assure you people are keeping a close eye on him.

I find it bad.

He is our investment so if he is a part of our plans, we should have someone in constant contact with him to make sure he is developing and working on what the club feels he needs worked out.

There are more than enough people on staff that could do this.

I can't blame the guy.

And I'm happy that Mourinho and Chelsea gave him the option to leave.

We could have really used him, but as Romelu said it was better for his development.

As I also believe next year he should be ready to be our main striker if he keeps up his form and improving.

If the rumors are true then why would he hand in a transfer request after missing a penalty? Jesus christ...... talk about overreacting and being idiotic both at once.

Feel for Jose though, everyone thought he was stupid letting him go but not really if Rom was wanting to go, he needs to shut his mouth though and remember he's only there because he wanted to leave (apparently he originally wanted to go permanently because he missed a penalty LOL... which the club obviously rejected) so to say I hope Jose is watching and to hint that he shouldn't have let him go although it was his choice is really really really really really really stupid.

I see Mourinho's comments as nothing more than a friendly reminder to Lukaku that he should think twice about what he says to the media. In the past, even before Jose's arrival and the Everton loan, Lukaku has occasionally been a bit immature and naive with the way he has spoken to the media, making a lot of fans and maybe even some people in the club's boardroom question his attitude so now Mourinho has given him a clear message that he needs to cut the bullshit and grow up if he wants to return to Chelsea one day. If Lukaku is a top professional like I've always considered him to be he will not get butthurt over Mourinho's comments and instead tries to learn something from this. If it works and Lukaku learns his lesson, Mourinho has done the right thing here but if it doesn't and Lukaku starts to resent Mourinho so easily then he really is still an immature kid who maybe isn't ready to lead the line for us after all, which is something Mourinho will be happy to know when making his plans for next season.

I agree with most part of your post...but, come one, friendly?

After seeing his interview with the BBC about wanting to return to Everton next season on loan or permanently should they make the top 4 is sickening. He would still have a roster spot with Belgium for the WC just like DeBruyne despite Kevin's lack of club appearances. But he wanted to be "the man" imo and refused to compete and fight for his place. He's still got a lot of work to do in his all round game, despite all the praise for his goals, he makes a lot of mistakes. The loan was the right move but to talk about moving to Everton again next season should they make the top 4 pisses me off.
