You can not tell the other party to wait for another year or two and reserve the player for them. All you'll accomplish is losing out on the player and there aren't many young and as promising CFs on the market. You need to "invest" and get the player you know you'll need surely in a years time if not sooner. He is young but he has the physical and technical aspect already to make an impact.
