Serie A is not weaker than the Premier League, at all. Maybe it was 3 seasons or so ago.

La Liga, Serie A, Premier League, Bundesliga, Ligue 1. There's no nuance to the game here anymore; if you can score against Italian defences you'll rip English ones to shreds.

Example Gabbiandini

Pogba will end up being worth the price in relitive terms, he's certainly one of the best midfielder's around and when the obsession over his price tag stops he will be reconised as such. Lukaku im truly not convinced ever will be, his goals no doubt he will score, but aside from that i can't see how he fits in.

Costa fit's us outside his goals because he's tenacious, presses well and is incredibility smart tactically with his off the ball movement. Even when he has his games were he can barely control the ball properly he gives us that. Lukaku falls short on those tactical level's compared to Costa and i fear our shape and team balance could be heavily affected by the fact Romelu is pretty lazy and hasn't got great movement.

Really agree with that bit about Costa, which is why i'm still hoping for club, player and manager to eventually sort out all their differences in the summer. It will be forever before we can find another striker to fit that bill.

And this is before the top teams in Italy have their own stadiums. This is before they get the obscene TV money the English teams get. The Premier League's almost dead, and it's being replaced by a lookalike zombie. Shining here means nothing, now. It's no coincidence the likes of Aguero & Suarez dominated over here, yet only ever been the 5th or even 10th best player in Spain.
Add Costa to that too. Went from being something like the 15th best player in La Liga to a top 3 player in the Premier League - and it's not like he's improved as player - he hasn't. Even Bale ripped England up, only to be a slightly above average player over in Spain. Elite forwards look at the lack of actual football over here and lick their lips.

+ Sanchez, too*.

If Jamie Vardy & Mahrez can come out of nowhere & both end a season as top 5 scorers, Belotti can do so, with ease.

Then look at how Salah did in the English game then went to Roma and ripped the defences to shreds in Italy.

Maybe it wasn't the English game, maybe it was Chelsea the reason he didn't realize his potential. Coutinho flopped at Inter, and became a star at Liverpool. Was it the league or he was a bad fit at Inter?

Kevin De Bruyne had similar results at Chelsea, but came back to the PL and is one of the best in the league.

Also you look at Cuardado who failed at Chelsea, but when he was at Juventus he put in really good performances in the CL against Man City. He would never put in that type of performance for Chelsea even with similar opposition.

So i particularly don't like that logic, if a player fails at a new league/club then to conclude the new league he moved to is superior to his old one. Too many variables to reach such conclusion.

I do believe though some players are better fit for certain leagues.

Close to signing Michael Keane for £25m as well. Unless Everton have suddenly decided to be mega spenders out of nowhere, the Lukaku deal has surely been done. They probably have an agreement with us not to announce it until they announce all of their signings so their supporters won't riot. They won't mind selling Lukaku if they have 4-5 new players in.

Either way, Everton will be very strong next season. Nice additions.

Agree, quality signings. Plus, if other clubs knew they had the "Lukaku money", they'd be held ransom.
